IU made use of various singing styles throughout the album. Going down by half a key, up by half a key, the various changes in her voice make it seem as if it is a completely different person singing. (Laughter) My uncles whom I grew up with would make fun of me when they saw me, and then tell me that I'm pretty after that just to pacify me. The line from IU's song, "You even say that my low-bridged nose is as pretty as Han Ga In's" appears to be from IU's conversations with her uncles.

The song 'Sleeping Prince', composed by Yoon Sang, has a fairytale feel and in actual fact, is rather similar to 'Cruel Fairytale'. "Yoon Sang sunbae requested for me to put in all the cute charm I have inside me to sing the song. Hahaha. But as we were recording, I said, "Ah, once I grow older by another year or two, my cute voice is going to disappear!" (Laughter)

In reply to question about what she's going to do in her 20s since she decided not to go to college in order to pursue her singing career, IU said, "I don't think I'll change much when I reach 20. Anyway, I would still be me. Just that I would have more responsibility, right? I would like being able to drive, return home late and enter more shops. Alcohol? My parents don't give me any, so I don't really drink. I've tried beer, so is it just about paying money to buy and drink? (Laughter)"

Sunny displayed her qualities as 'Worker Soonkyu' through a meaningful speech.

On 'Invincible Youth 2' which will be aired on the 3rd of December, Sunny expressed herself to the other G8 members with her 'luxury prohibition' talk.

As the G8 members, Lee SooGeun, Boom and Ji HyunWoo are going to the G8′s house which will be completed by next week, they had a meeting to prepare for the 'village entrance ceremony'. Led by Sunny, the team leader and Ji HyunWoo, the secretary, they kicked off the meeting and G8 members discussed about the guests they would like to invite and the things they need for the empty room.

G8 members who have high expectations for their new home talked about high-tech appliances like 3D plasma TV, two-door refrigerator, kimchi refrigerator, vacuum cleaner and rice cooker.

However, team leader Sunny said, "In replacement of kimchi refrigerator, we can use our traditional jar. In fact, iron pot cooks tastier rice than electric rice cooker".

Sunny further expressed her opinions by saying, "We should listen to the stories of our G8 members instead of watching TV, because they are more interesting". Sunny displayed her image as a genuine leader through her excellent speech which pointed out the key problems.

[News] Girls’ Generation star aiming for fashion fame

Jessica from Girls' Generation, who was featured in the December issue of 1stLook magazine, has revealed that she wants to pursue a career in fashion.

The 22-year-old singer is featured wearing various outfits and showcasing a sophisticated look that is in stark contrast to the image she portrays as a member of the successful girl group.
In the interview accompanying the photographs, Jessica spoke about her fellow band members, fashion and her younger sister Krystal, from girl group f(x). In regards to her future plans she said "I have a lot of interest in fashion and so after studying for a bit longer I want to work within the fashion industry. Photo shoots are so fun and I can learn a lot from wearing various styles of clothing."

Jessica also expressed her desire to have a go at acting, comedy and musicals, among other career aspirations.

In some quarters Jessica has been labeled as an "Ice Princess" but it isn't something that bothers her. "If you look at things negatively you are seen as a cold and aloof person. Still I think a girl's charm comes from being hard to get." She has that since being in the group she has learnt to become more emotional and expressive.

[News] Girls’ Generation and SHINee among acts that celebrate new TV channels

A concert featuring K-Pop groups such as SHINee, Girls' Generation and Miss A took place on Dec. 2nd to commemorate the launch of four new TV channels.

To celebrate the launch of JTBC, Channel A, TV Chosun and MBN an hour-long concert took place at Korea University. Kicking off the show as Insooni, who sang a cover of SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong" dressed in an elaborate white dress. She was followed by the five-piece boy band itself that thrilled and delighted the crowd by singing their hit song "Lucifer." Singer Kim Gun-mo had perhaps the most interesting performance, entertaining fans with a performance that included him shooting laser beams from his keytar.

Halfway through the show Kim Jang-hoon stepped onto a gyrating platform that took him out above the audience while he sang. Miss A also made an appearance and performed "Good-bye Baby" to an enthusiastic crowd that was sorry to see the band leave the stage. A trot medley by the trio of Sul Woon-do, Tae Jin-ah and Song Dae-kwan was a hit with the older members of the audience, but undoubtedly the highlight of the concert was when Girls' Generation took the stage. The girls performed their new single, "The Boys" to a full house as the night drew to an end.

[My Daily = Beak Solmi Reporter] Cube Entertainment is currently in the process of preparing another unit group after 4minute Hyunah and BEAST Jang Hyunseung's unit group, Trouble Maker.

At a conference that took place on the 2nd, the staff of Cube had announced to the reporters that other subunit groups would be appearing soon enough.

On this day they stated, "As a unit series, after Trouble Maker, other unit groups will be revealed. We are preparing them in a male-male, female-female, and male-male-female fashion." In addition they added, "The groups might consist of 4minute, BEAST, and G.NA or a trainee might also be appearing as well."

Cube Entertainment had announced Hyunah and Jang Hyunseung as Korea's first male and female idol unit group Trouble Maker. Trouble Maker plans to be performance centered and had gained attention with their kiss scene and scandalous teasers.

Jang Hyunseung had stated, "Instead of the kiss performance types we showed off at the 'MAMA' stage, we plan to show off a side we haven't revealed on the music video."

The title song 'Trouble Maker' leaves a strong impression with the whistling in the introduction and with a funky rhythm and melody. Their first stage will be on SBS 'Inkigayo' on the 4th.

Leeteuk and Kang Sora couple tried their very first physical affection.

On December 3 episode of MBC We Got Married, the couple meet each other after their university date.

Unfortunately, they have to be apart again due to Leeteuk's packed schedule. Both of them are sad as they have to leave each other early and obviously not wanting to go.

[News] IU's 'You and I' MV officially explained

The MV for the title track of IU's 2nd regular album, 'You and I' was produced by Hwang Soo-Ah. The same producer was also involved in IU's MVs for 'Good Day' and 'The Story Only I Didn't Know'. The MV for 'You and I' is about a girl who steps into a time machine and goes on a time travel to meet her boyfriend of the future, and has IU and actor Lee Hyun Woo as the female and male leads respectively.


Inside the clock tower, is a 19 year old girl who stays in an empty room inherited from her grandfather. In the empty room, is also a boy who has fallen into a deep slumber as if time has stopped. Her grandfather has designed him so that he would open his eyes and wake up once she becomes an adult. She takes care of him meticulously. Upon finding out the truth of the matter, she concentrates on finding a way to make time pass faster.

Inside the empty room, is a toy train constantly on the go. Staring at the train, the girl then enters the train and looks out of the train windows to see images of the future. In those images, she sees herself together with the boy.

Upon seeing her future, the girl is intent on making something even larger than the clocks to hurry time. She decides to builld a time machine to allow her to travel to the future. By taking this time machine, she wishes to make time pass faster to meet the boy of the future.

On the day that the girl becomes an adult, the time machine is finally complete. Nervously, she steps into the time machine and begins to travel to the future. At that moment, the boy wakes up, but the girl has already travelled to the future.. all he sees is the image of the girl just before she leaves. Would the two of them ever meet again..?


The 'You and I' MV, which features the fresh and thrilling acting of IU and Lee Hyunwoo (both born in 1993), makes perfect use of a mysterious yet peculiar concept of a time travel fantasy story seen through the eyes of a 19 year old girl. Hwang Soo-Ah, whose MVs are well-received, hopes to present an episode from a fantasy movie through the 'You and I' MV.

After the "TVXQ crisis" that has been causing a disruption similar to a nuclear blast in the Korean music industry for the past two years occurred, a book that looks into the foundations of this case has finally been written. This book, published by EnterPost and entitled Prosper JYJ (author Kim BumTae) is now for sale.

This book looks into the 'faceless' singers JYJ who 'cannot perform on music shows even if their sales are number 1′ and makes sure that the issues facing them are squarely raised. The large agencies, entertainment organizations and broadcasters, including those who have been placed in the entertainment industry as merely shareholders used to make sure the corrupt system does not collapse, have created a cartel-like structure around artists like JYJ. This book includes information from various media blogs, such as EnterPost's popular 3 month long series "JYJ walking back to the tent".

The title expresses not only prosperity but also a sense of fun (興, fun, pleasure, joy). It showcases the entertaining nature in which the book was written as well as a wish for prosperity and joy for those it was written for. The books starts with the background of the event that sparked the "TVXQ crisis" on July 31st 2009 when three of the five members of TVXQ; Kim Jaejoong (Hero), Park Yoochun (Micky), and Kim Junsu (Xiah); applied for an injunction to suspend their exclusive contract with their agency, SM Entertainment. After the legal dispute with SM Entertainment, and the subsequent court rulings in favor of JYJ, the Korea Federation of Popular Culture and Art (KFPCA) sent letters to various broadcast stations and entertainment programs asking for them to intentionally stop any entrance of JYJ into their programs. This was the beginning of the irrational and obvious mistreatment of JYJ in both Korea and Japan.

The book talks specifically about the case of SM hiding the truth about [JYJ']s cosmetics business investment and using it as a source to blame for the lawsuit. Additionally the book also contains information about JYJ's many feats—the release of their worldwide album, the entry into the Billboard charts, being the first Korean artists to hold successful solo concerts in Europe, and the outstanding musical as well as individual activities of each of the three members. Another strong point addressed is JYJ's foreign power and how they brought the case of SM's slave contract to light, causing a ripple among both domestic and foreign media. The book draws on various articles and cultural critics that were affected by the news and also takes a look into the hype of Hallyu.

Over the past few years the author has traveled to countries such as India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and even Papua New Guinea in both urban and rural areas to see the local reaction to the "hot and popular" Hallyu trend.

He found that the response to Hallyu in Korea did not make sense because [people] were not allowed a healthy development of opinions that could only be caused by being exposed to criticisms and suggestions about Hallyu. In particular he talks about "the media's arbitrary powers to exercise complete control over the information on Hallyu. The media bias clearly reveals influence from large governmental agencies or entertainment companies to maintain a certain image of The Republic of Korea's cultural industry. Because of this the Hallyu wave is becoming more of a "distorted wave" and the current of false information hinders the public's ability to see". The book also discusses the "loyal gratitude" that idols must have. The author says "The companies use loyalty and gratitude as excuses to deny their stars of their rights and work them until they bleed". These points in the book have sparked heated reactions from readers since the book's first publication.
Readers who have read the book said "though this information for many people is new, it should not only be kept locally but should also be spread abroad"

They say that translations and publications to reach overseas fans in China, Japan, and Thailand were necessary.

The company is looking into and planning publications in Japan because of local curiosity about the investigations behind the practices restricting JYJ. "Prosper JYJ" is also republishing in Korea because of hot reactions from readers.

With readers of this book becoming more aware of the unfair and unreasonable situation surrounded JYJ, it is hoped that the entertainment industry will improve its structure. The author has said that a portion of revenues from this book will be donated to the World Vision Global Fund which aids over 100 countries worldwide with relief and development.

Actor Ji Hyun Woo has expanded his career and released his first solo album, "Crescendo".

"Crescendo" marks Ji Hyun Woo's first solo album in two years following his release with his rock trio "The Nuts" last 2004. The new album is composed of three songs, written and composed by Ji Hyun Woo himself and produced by his older brother and a rock band N.E.X.T member, Ji Hyun Soo.

The actor also released the music video for his title track, "Kid", which features clips of Ji Hyun Woo performing on the streets, recording and having some fun.

[News] G-Dragon to attend YG Family Concert

It's been confirmed that Big Bang's leader, G-Dragon will be appearing at the 2011 YG Family Concert.

On December 2nd, according to concert crew, G-Dragon attended the rehearsal for the concert and successfuly finished his preparations.

Back on October, YG Entertainment has announced that Big Bang's Daesung, who halted activities due to car accident, will attend the concert. However, the agency didn't mentioned about G-Dragon's appearance which in that time was a subject to an unpleasant controversy. With this confirmation, fans break free from lingering anxieties about the concert.

YG seriously debated on the idea of G-Dragon's participation. However, since YG Family Concert is an event where all YG artists come together, and the fact that they're celebrating 15th year anniversary, the agency decided to let G-Dragon perform to thank his fans who have been a great support for him.

After waiting for months, fans will able to see the five members of Big Bang performing together again. Big Bang, alongside YG Entertainment's top artists will be performing at the "15th Anniversary YG Family Concert" which will be attended by over 200,000 people from both Korea and Japan.

[News] Girls’ Generation Wins a Sixth Music Bank K-Chart!

On December 2nd, Girls' Generation once again faced off against the Wonder Girls and won the KBS Music Bank K-Chart with "The Boys", making it their sixth win in a row. "The Boys" now holds the record for the third most consecutive wins on Music Bank, following "Gee" and Jewelry's "One More Time". In addition, since their nine week winning streak with "Gee", Girls' Generation is the only artist to win more than five consecutive Music Bank K-Charts in a row.
Despite having what was believed to be their goodbye stage two weeks ago, Girls' Generation returned to Music Bank last week to continue their performances as they recorded their fifth win. The girls, adorned in the white outfits they also wore for the Mnet Asian Music Awards, came back for yet another performance of "The Boys" this week, delighting fans worldwide.
Girls' Generation themselves expressed their happiness towards their sixth win, singing the fanchants for "The Boys" and calling for fans in the audience to cheer and make noise.

SHINee members showed off their bright and cheerful side on the recent pictorial for the December issue of Japan's famous fashion magazine, "Anan".

Dazzled by SHINee's charms, a staff member uploaded a photo of the group on an online community site under the title, "SHINee, who extended a Japanese magazine's staff members' life expectancy".

The staff member started the post with "Thanks to the couple of hours that I spent with SHINee, I feel like my life span might extend by years."

She further explained that Taemin's angelic face makes people believe that there's heaven on earth which urge them to live well and don't want to die.

During the pictorial, while Taemin was looking at a mini-kiwi the size of a knuckle, he cannot believe what he saw and exclaimed, "That's not real!" and smiled. Upon seeing his reaction, the female staff members claimed that they instantly increased their life expectancy by two to three years.

Netizens who read the blog commented, "I can imagine how Taemin might have smiled" and "Taemin's baby smile is likable anywhere".

[News] Details of ‘Mr. Taxi’ Version of Girls’ Generation’s Third Album Revealed!

Girls' Generation will be releasing a second version of their third album, entitled "Mr. Taxi", on December 8th, 2011. The album will contain thirteen tracks with the addition of the English version of "The Boys".  The "Mr. Taxi" track will be moved to the first track, and the Korean version of "The Boys" track moved to the second.
During their promotions for "The Boys" earlier this year, Girls' Generation also performed "Mr. Taxi" wearing outfits reminiscent of police officers. With the unveiling of the album cover, fans were excited to see that the group chose similar outfits for the concept of the second version of their album. In addition, while the concept for "The Boys" consisted of a unique outfit for each member, "Mr. Taxi" features a return to identical outfits.
Twitter users quickly reacted to news of the upcoming album release and to the revealing of the album cover, as "Mr. Taxi" trended worldwide at number four.

Pledis Entertainment artists including After School and Pledis Boys members JR and Dongho put up a warm and festive atmosphere as they hit the stage of Music Bank with their latest track, "Love Letter".

The cheery and heartwarming single, "Love Letter" is the title track of the collaboration album, "Happy Pledis 2012 Love Letter". It features the talents of Son Dambi, After School, upcoming boy group Pledis Boys and trainees Ara and Hyelim.

"Happy Pledis 2012 Love Letter" contains three new songs and a remix version of After School's Christmas song "LOVE LOVE LOVE". The album is an annual project that encourages society to share love during holiday seasons. Pledis plans to spread some joy and hope and will donate a portion of the album sales to UNICEF.
