Big Bang estimated to earn over $180,000 a day in 2012

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 09:00 AM PST

An estimate of Big Bang‘s daily earnings has been revealed, shocking fans and netizens everywhere.

According to a celebrity X-file reported on February 9th by LIG Investment & Securities analyst Jung Yoo Suk, Big Bang is estimated to rake in an impressive amount of over $69 million USD this year, which means they would make over $180,000 per day (over $7500 an hour). Although the boys were only active for the first half of 2011, Big Bang still managed to earn well over $25 Million USD last year.

Analyst Jung remarked, “YG Entertainment places much emphasis on their groups Big Bang and 2NE1, who combined earn over 70% of YG’s total profits. This is highly risky, but as long as they continue to debut new groups, the risk percentage will decrease over time.”

Fans who read the reports responded saying, “Corporation on wheels“, “I hope they make their comeback soon“, “Daebak“, “I want to be Big Bang just for a day“, and more.

jTBC responds to accusations of using Yoochun’s pictures

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 07:46 AM PST

jTBC has issued an official statement in response to the accusations of using JYJ member Yoochun‘s photos.

During a phone interview that took place on February 10th with StarN, a jTBC representative remarked, “It is true that we have released a report regarding an idol star and naked photos, however, we did not make any mention of Park Yoochun.”

Ahead of this on the 9th, jTBC reported that the former girlfriend of an unnamed idol star was using naked photos to blackmail him for over $800,000 USD.

In the report, they had used blurred photos of Park Yoochun and netizens had found the original copies of the photos in comparison, thus drawing conclusions that the idol star was Yoochun.

However, jTBC stood their ground saying, “We did not violate any principles of news reporting. The photos were pixelated / blurred before being released, and we have never revealed the identity of the idol star in question. It was the third parties who speculated that the idol star was Park Yoochun, and therefore it has nothing to do with us.”

Meanwhile, JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment strongly denied the reports saying, “The idol star in question is not Park Yoochun. In the event that these rumors prove to be false and an invasion of privacy, we will immediately seek legal action through legal advisors.”

Actress Song Ji Hyo took part in her first ’Running Man‘ shoot after news broke out about her relationship with the CEO of her agency, C-JeS Entertainment.

The shoot took place in Busan on February 6th, and fans were anxious to know how this would affect her relationship with co-star Gary on the program. Song Ji Hyo and Gary make up the ‘Monday Couple’, a team that’s drawn great popularity on the program because of the couple’s affection for one another.

‘Running Man’ PD Cho Hyo Jin informed MyDaily that, ”It was the first shoot after the news broke, but the atmosphere on set wasn’t much different from how it’s always been. As always, it was a pleasant shoot. Nothing special.

After her relationship was made public, the actress had apologized via text messages to all her ‘Running Man’ cast members, including Gary, who responded via Twitter.

Cho PD remarked, “To be honest, it’s nothing she needs to feel or be sorry for. I think she did that because she’s just a really sweet girl. They did mention her new relationship during the shoot, but they were supportive and encouraging. If it’s funny, we will include it in the episode; if not, it will get edited [out].”

Song Ji Hyo and Gary were also on the same team, and they were their usual ‘Monday Couple’ selves,” Cho continued. “They weren’t awkward at all, nothing different from how it’s always been.”

In related news, Lee Da Hae and Oh Ji Ho served as the special guests on the episode. ‘Part 1′ will air on the 19th, while ‘Part 2′ will air on the 26th.

EXID discusses their reaction to hate comments + reveals what sets them apart

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 04:35 AM PST

There’s no denying that there’s been a flood of idol groups over the past few years. With groups debuting left, right, and center, it’s taking more and more to impress the public and earn a place in the sun.

EXID (pronounced “ee-ex-ID“), a rookie girl group formed by producer Shinsadong Tiger, is one of the new idol groups who are well aware of the situation. The members stated, “Thanks to Shinsadong Tiger oppa, we have been one of the top-searched groups online, and we received a lot of attention. It seems that they’re giving us attention before our debut because of our association with such a famous composer. Although it’s a little uncomfortable being in the spotlight before our debut, we are really thankful.”

The girls also addressed the hate comments that they’ve come across. “We looked for articles on ourselves and read the comments; we also saw that there were a lot of negative replies. Since there are so many rookies coming out, there were a lot of comments that went along the lines of, ‘Another rookie?’ or ‘Probably another auto-tuned group’.”

However, EXID isn’t discouraged — rather, they feel excited and thankful for the attention. They stated, “When we see negative comments like that, we get excited. The excitement rise from the thought of being able to show them our performances and changing their minds. None of the members have been hurt by the negative comments.”

“Truthfully, there are more hateful comments about Tiger oppa than there are about us. He was pained by them,” they added with laughter.

Despite the public’s negative view, the members seem confident that they could become a group that will stand out from the rest. They asserted, “We think that we have our own distinguishing factor.”

The members point out that one factor that could distinguish them from most idol groups came from Shinsadong Tiger and his willingness to give the girls freedom in the way they practice; he also gives them creative liberties in their music and choreography.

EXID stated, “Tiger oppa has a loose training policy, so he gives us freedom in the way we practice. There is no ‘Do this, do that, there’s a lesson at this time’. On the contrary, it’s us who asks him to find us instructors. He lets us practice in the way we want.”

They continued, “As a result, we bonded together to practice, and write up our opinions on hair and costumes to submit to him. He helps us find a color of our own. We have also participated in our album, and even wrote our own songs.”

“It’s an atmosphere in which we can put in our own ideas. Rather than just assigning us a concept or choreography, he helps us come up with our own, and thus, we end up trying harder due to a sense of responsibility. Couldn’t this be something that distinguishes us?”
