Jang Jae In delivers a whimsical look for ‘NYLON’

Posted: 03 Feb 2012 06:50 AM PST

Singer Jang Jae In has delivered a stunning pictorial through NYLON magazine.

The series, entitled "Whisper of the Heart", sought to capture a whimsical, yet feminine spirit by utilizing soft lighting and a minimalistic wardrobe.

The result was a breathtaking transformation, as Jang Jae In (who’s know for being a down-to-earth performer) stepped out as an enigmatic model with mysterious eyes. Undoubtedly, her strongest shot is the one where she looks straight into the camera while wearing a simple knit dress — the direct gaze combined with the pastel coloring and gorgeous knit textures result in a charming juxtaposition of bold and soft.

After the shoot, Jang Jae In took part in an interview, where she discussed her personal life and upcoming plans as a musician. "I took a solitary trip to Japan at the beginning of the New Year, and it was truly a refreshing period to reflect and become a better person," said Jang. "I will be continuing my busker performances around various Korean cities.”

Lee Hyori is furious with MBC for reporting false stories

Posted: 03 Feb 2012 03:18 AM PST

Singer Lee Hyori has put MBC on blast for reporting false stories about her.

MBC Everyone has been gearing up for the upcoming pilot of their new show, ‘Daebak Code 777′, which will feature a segment called ‘A Day of Star’, where celebrities are followed around for a day to discover the places and stores they frequent.

Lee Hyori was the first celebrity to be featured on this program. According to MBC Everyone’s press release, Hyori went hiking before stopping at a restaurant to eat some kelp kimbap. She then moved onto a brunch restaurant with a gallery, followed by a shopping trip at a jewelry store on a tree-lined street.

After purchasing many articles of clothing and jewelry, Lee Hyori later ate at a restaurant that specializes in dishes with cow intestines. She was also reported to have visited a dermatology clinic to receive a procedure which involved injections that supposedly allows the skin to regenerate, allowing her skin to become as smooth as a baby’s.

Seeing this press release before the airing of the show, Hyori denied the details listed, and vented her frustration on Twitter.

She tweeted, “The places I frequent? Other than the jewelry shop on the tree-lined street, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of these places. Let’s not lure innocent viewers with these… I’ve never even heard of kelp kimbap, I haven’t visited that restaurant that serves cow intestines since a year ago when I stopped eating meat, I’m curious about this brunch place with a gallery, and please tell me the number of the clinic that will return my skin back to a baby’s skin~”

Hyori continued, “Why do they make these things up? Do they receive something [in compensation]?”

Netizens shook their heads in sympathy as they commented, “I can’t believe they were trying to air something that wasn’t even true…”, “If Hyori did not speak up, then people would have gone to visit those places,” and “It seems MBC just makes up whatever they want.”

Cho PD reveals he considered taking out a loan for Block B

Posted: 03 Feb 2012 01:42 AM PST

Cho PD, the mastermind behind Block B, has revealed that he once inquired about a loan for the first time in his life.

Cho PD said that he estimated the amount of money it would take to push the seven-member idol group and agency Brand New Stardom to the top; the figure made him think about putting in a loan application for the first time in his life.

He stated, “I’m not paying a monthly installment for my car, nor do I have any loans right now. However, I looked into how much money I could borrow by using our agency office as collateral, so that I would not have to receive help from outside sources.”

Cho PD’s investment in Brand New Stardom with Block B’s debut last year was said to be around 1.5 billion Won (~ $1,341,297 USD). Ten months later, it was estimated to have surpassed 2 billion Won (~$1,788,350).

The reason why Cho PD sought a loan rather than accept funds from outside investors lies in his belief in Block B’s talents. He wished to preserve their freedom, which would not have been guaranteed if outside investors had their say.

ChJo PD stated, “In pushing for concepts that haven’t been tried by others, and giving the members the authority over their music, there will be strong opposition by individuals in those positions [investors]. These things cannot be achieved when leadership has been dispersed… The trust in the members’ talents and abilities should be absolute.”

In related news, Block B has been making quite a splash with their recent comeback, and have already reached #1 on various music charts. The boys are promoting their title track, “Nanrina”, and you’ll be able to catch them later today on ‘Music Bank’.

Posted: 03 Feb 2012 01:11 AM PST

It’s just been revealed that Brown Eyed GirlsMiryo will not be performing her title track, “Dirty“, on tonight’s episode of KBS’s ‘Music Bank’.

KBS has determined that a word within the lyrics from Miryo’s title track was not suitable for broadcast. As such, Miryo will now be performing “Leggo“, another track from her debut solo mini-album featuring Narsha.

Miryo had no such problems with her comeback performance on Mnet‘s ‘M! Countdown‘ yesterday. Fans are now anxious to see how MBC and SBS‘s music programs will respond to KBS’s decision.

Stay tuned to allkpop for updates.
