Earlier today, YouTube officially launched their 42nd country official local site in Malaysia at

YouTube’s official blog wrote,

“While YouTube has already been available in Malaysia's most widely spoken languages — Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese, and English — having a Malaysia-specific homepage can now deliver the most relevant videos for Malaysians as well as make it easier to highlight great content from our local partners such as KRU Studios… In the last few years, Malaysians have shown a gift for creating video hits. You may have seen the guy who proposed to his girlfriend using Internet memes. Then there's singer and ukelele player Zee Avi, who posted a few videos on YouTube in 2007 and ended up signing to Jack Johnson's Brushfire label. Meanwhile school teacher Cikgu Shida has mimed her way across tons of popular songs to become a sudden Internet star in her homeland.

With YouTube now open in Malaysia, we are excited to see more and more Malaysians join the YouTube community. And hopefully this will also mean the world can more easily discover the amazing culture and talent that exists in Malaysia today.”

To commemorate this opening, a special video was created and features some of Malaysia’s top artists including Yuna, Mizz Nina, Joe Flizzow, and Tenderfist. Additionally, after looking at the analytics and seeing the popularity of K-pop in the country, some of the Top K-pop / K-drama stars including B2ST, 2NE1, INFINITE, miss A, Jang Geun Suk, and SISTAR welcomed Malaysians to YouTube Malaysia.

Jang Geun Suk is traditional when it comes to love and relationships

Posted: 22 Mar 2012 07:36 AM PDT

Actor Jang Geun Suk revealed that he is cautious when it comes to love.

On March 22nd, Jang Geun Suk attended the press conference for KBS 2TV‘s new drama series ‘Love Rain‘, held at the Lotte Hotel Grand Ball Room in Seoul.

In the new drama series ‘Love Rain’, Jang Geun Suk plays a handsome '70s art student named Seo In Ha, and his son in the year 2012, a free-spirited photographer named Seo Jun. Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation member YoonA plays Kim Yoon Hee, a quiet and innocent campus goddess from the 1970′s who falls in love with Seo In Ha (played by Jang Geun Suk). After forwarding to the modern world, YoonA will again appear as Yoon Ha Na (daughter of Yoon Hee), an energetic girl who attends an agricultural institution in Japan.

‘Love Rain’ will unveil a pure love story from the 70′s analog generation, as well as a trendy love story from the digital generation of 2012.

The first episode airs March 26th at 9:55PM KST.

Eric let go of a hefty offer to stay with Shinhwa

Posted: 22 Mar 2012 12:51 AM PDT

Shinhwa‘s leader Eric recently featured on the March 20th episode of KBS‘s ‘Win Win‘ and revealed his undying loyalty for his group.

Fellow member Kim Dong Wan was asked, “Was there really not one moment where Shinhwa was on the brink of disbandment?” to which he replied, “Idol groups are often put at such risks when they switch contracts and move labels.”

Andy continued, “All of the members came together and revealed the contract offers they had received and discussed the matter with one another. In the end, we followed Eric’s decision to contract with other agencies.”

Kim Dong Wan mentioned that Eric’s worth was skyrocketing at the time due to his popularity in the MBC drama, ‘Phoenix‘. “At the time, Eric received an offer of such a great amount that it would’ve been impossible for anyone else to reject. Instead, he had said, ‘Even though I received such an offer, I believe that we can move to another company together where we all receive the same treatment.”

Eric explained, “First of all, I thought about signing on with SM Entertainment again because it was important to me that the six members did not split up. In the bigger picture, staying with SM would’ve been the right decision, but considering the members’ situations and their profits, I decided that it would be better for us to be adventurous.”

He continued, “I did not become a member of Shinhwa to become an actor, nor did the other members become a member of Shinhwa to later pursue solo activities. Without Shinhwa, I lose a lot of my confidence.”
