The episode of SBS Strong Heart that was broadcast on March 6 featured Miss A's Min and talked about her last Halloween costume frightened everyone in her path.

Last Halloween, Min was invited by her friend Brian Joo to a Halloween party. She wore ghost costume and put some fake blood and make up to look like a real ghost.

She said, "I rode a cab and everyone looked at me funny, " she continued "A police car drove by and even asked me if I was filming something. The cab driver was also shocked seeing me with that costume"

"When I finally arrived at the venue (Itaewon), everyone wore formal suits and evening gowns," she revealed "I finally saw Brian oppa, who was wearing a bow tie and his friends were also wearing a long evening wear."

Miss A's Min who spent her teen years in USA, is used to traditional Halloween celebration where they wear scary costumes and scares other people off. So, it was of course a common sense to her, that the rest of the world also follow this tradition.

Her last comment evoke laughter on set, "I looked like a crazy person all by myself."

[News] MBC strike cancels airing of “The Moon that Embraces the Sun”

Posted: 07 Mar 2012 06:30 AM PST

Midweek MBC drama "The Moon that Embraces the Sun" will not air this week following a strike by the program's director, Kim Do Hoon. Earlier in the day, the network said it was unsure whether the program would continue to air, but later made the final announcement.

"We filmed up until March 5, but recording for March 6 was cancelled. Episode 19, slated to air on March 7, is yet incomplete, and for now, airing seems impossible," the network representative said. Instead of the 19th and 20th episodes, MBC will air a special-edition show based on the drama.

Union members of three of the nation's leading broadcasters – KBS, MBC and YTN – went on strike on March 5 to protest what they saw as politically biased reporting.

Due to various program directors taking part in the union strike, other MBC dramas, such as "Feast of the Gods," "A Military Subject" and "Just like Today," are also at risk of being cancelled this week.

Girls' Generation's 100 pyeong (about 3,600 sq.ft) hostel is receiving a lot of attention lately.

While lining up the '2012 girl group ranking' which was discussed on Mnet's 'Wide Entertainment News' aired on February 27th, the program also introduces the ranking of the girl groups based on the environment of their accommodations. The production staff seemed to have made some studies on Girls' Generation's hostel as well.

Through the broadcast, it was revealed that Girls' Generation's luxurious hostel has a total area of about 100 pyeong (3,600 sq.ft) and the living room itself takes up nearly 30 pyeong (1080 sq.ft).

According to an individual from the property market estimated that the deposit for the girls' hostel could be around 100 million Won and the monthly rental alone ranges from 4 to 6 million Won. In terms of trading in the property market, it could cost from around 800 to 900 million Won to even a few billion Won.

According to the broadcast, the reason why the Girls' Generation members are staying in such a luxurious and expensive hostel is because of its 5-minute distance from SM Entertainment's building and also the high level of security that maintains their privacy.

[NEWS] Big Bang Holds "Alive" Concert

Posted: 07 Mar 2012 03:41 AM PST

The performance came after a year-long wait, and the mischievous and chatty Big Bang we were so used to seeing was nowhere to be found. "We just wanted to fight with our music and our performances," Daesung said during the concert, and the other members indeed seemed to agree, as they showed they were being serious from start to finish.

Big Bang met with 39,000 of its fans in its exclusive concert held from March 2-4 in Seoul, the 2012 Big Show/Big Bang Alive Tour.In the three concerts, in front of a near total of 40,000 fans, Big Bang indeed proved it was 'Alive'.The performance opened up with a blinding video featuring the members in an outer space setting. The members then appeared in person onstage to perform the Intro of its fifth mini album Alive, which was released on February 29, and ran right into Tonight, plunging their fans into a frenzy in just a few minutes.

The performance was all the more meaningful of course because it was the group's first in a long time, but also because it was the first day fans would get to see the group perform the singles from its most recent mini album. Passionate performances of the Intro, Fantastic Baby, Bad Boy, No Fun, Blue, Love Dust and Daesung's solo piece Wing all reminded the audience just what Big Bang was really about. The many incidents the group had to endure in 2011 made the concert even more passionate and serious. The members rarely even stopped to talk in between performances. As if they wanted to let out all the energy they had kept bottled up inside them during the past year, the members continued to sprint forward with all their might from start to finish, never stopping to so much as take a breath. There were no parody videos, a well-known trademark of Big Bang concerts. "We didn't make a parody video on purpose this time," Daesung said. "We just wanted to fight with our music and our performances.""It's great to see you again. A lot of things happened, but I'm thankful you're still here. I'll never make you worried again," G-Dragon said. "Big Bang will become a group that draws out not disappointment or concern, but rather anticipation. I'll work harder."

Their passion onstage lived up to that determination, continuing to burn all through the colorful two-hour-long performance. G-Dragon and T.O.P., who had broken off from the group before as a unit, performed Knock Out and High High, Seungri showed off his stage manners with his solos Strong Baby and What Can I Do, Taeyang followed suit with his own solo pieces Don't Cheat On Me and Wedding Dress and Daesung's first performance of Wing added to the splendor. The group's efforts over the past year shone through in the members' solo feats, the group's original hits including Haru Haru, Lie, Last Farewell and Sunset Glow and the fresh new performances of the new singles.Another reason why this concert was different was because it was the first collaborative effort between Big Bang and Live Nation, a show production company that has produced world tours for such pop figures as Madonna, U2 and Lady Gaga. Designers, sound engineers and session players with previous experience in global settings perfected the music and the atmosphere.Big Bang will continue on its world tour, which started with the Seoul concert, through 25 cities in 16 countries.

[MISC] Bad Boy MV Review

Posted: 07 Mar 2012 03:39 AM PST

Judging by the growing alignment of American big media forces around K-pop—within the last two months, The Wonder Girls starred in a Teen Nick TV-movie, Interscope signees Girls Generation performed on Letterman and Swizz Beatz signed a broad production deal with a South Korean television company—2012 seems predestined to be the year the ever-growing genre breaks into the Western mainstream. Big Bang have been twice name-checked by Swizz as potential Chris Brown collaborators, and on "Bad Boy," the newest music video from their Alive mini-album, they make the most compelling case yet for why a rising K-pop profile in America is a well-deserved and wonderful thing.

The song opens with a very Slick Rick-sounding, A-yo, Choice, drop it on me, spoken by the group's leader, G-Dragon, an androgynous man with a delicate, Skrillex-inspired hairpiece and a patched motorcycle jacket with a teal muppet-fur back. Despite spending 6 years being trained for stardom by his record label before debuting with Big Bang, G-Dragon was found out by Seoul police last October for having smoking marijuana. Either way, he's totally seamless here. "Bad Boy" is exquisite, with roots in the airiest of hip-hop/R&B summer crossover. Though it's sung 90 percent in subtly processed Korean, carefully placed English phrases explain the song succinctly—Sorry, I'm a bad boy… you're a good girl—and provide crucial hooks for at-home singalong. "Bad Boy" floats the way your hand does riding currents outside the car window, in and out of the sun without seemingly any effort.

But perhaps most importantly—and definitely most surprisingly—the music video for "Bad Boy" was filmed in Williamsburg, down by the Marcy Ave JMZ subway entrance. Half the charm of K-pop is that it's preciously and unabashedly manufactured, but there's something seriously compelling and refreshingly unforced about weaving dances around Brooklyn subway steps. In our interview last week, Swizz Beatz said, "It feels like Korea is in your backyard, the way the internet makes things." It's already past that point. Big Bang really is in our backyard. They're on the ground and they're walking the turf, and for four breezy minutes they're absolutely killing it.
