Big Bang’s T.O.P was a rebel as a young child

Posted: 20 Apr 2012 09:01 AM PDT

Big Bang‘s T.O.P revealed that he was a bit of a troublemaker during his childhood.

On the April 20th episode of SBS‘s ‘Go Show‘, T.O.P admitted that he had troubles working in a team when he was younger. “I had an extremely sensitive personality, and I snuck out (of school) to go home everyday.”

Because I kept coming home from school, my teacher and my mom decided to hide my shoes,” he continued. “But then I started going home barefoot. It was hard to work with others. I couldn’t adhere to the structured and organized activities.”

I wasn’t a delinquent, but I just couldn’t sit in class with all the other kids. It was so hard for me,” he added. “In retrospect, those were things I needed to experience but I kept leaving to come home.”

Taeyang revealed that T.O.P was also the only one currently living in his own home, instead of at the dorms.

MC Go Hyun Jung who sincerely listened to T.O.P remarked, “It’s better to be a little rebellious when you are younger.” She then gave T.O.P some words of advice, sharing how she was a good student during her younger years, but began rebelling later on and how that experience had a negative affect on her.

Kim Hyun Joong unsettled over controversy surrounding his Taiwanese fan meeting

Posted: 20 Apr 2012 08:06 AM PDT

Ahead of his first independent fan meeting, Kim Hyun Joong is unsettled by the controversy surrounding the price of the fan meeting tickets.

On May 18th and 19th, Kim Hyun Joong will be holding  his ‘2012 Kim Hyun Joong Asia Fan Meeting In Taiwan‘, and the tickets are currently being sold between 30,000 KRW (~$27) to 200,000 KRW (~$180). Some reports in the Taiwanese media state that the fans feel the prices for the tickets are too high, putting both Kim Hyun Joong and the organizing team in a sticky situation.

A representative from the organization team informed OSEN on April 20th, “We are aware that there is some controversy surrounding the price of the tickets. But this fan meeting is different from all the others. Though its called a ‘fan meeting’, it is on the same scale as a quality concert performance.”

Kim Hyun Joong is actively participating in planning this fan meeting,” the rep continued. “He has prepared 14 song performances for the fan meeting, and has prepared a event where fans can win prizes full of cosmetics from the cosmetic brand he endorses. He is unsettled at the controversy in the local area, and he is planning an excellent event that will not disappoint the fans. Please look forward to it.”

The tickets for this event were priced similarly to tickets for other Hallyu star fan meetings in the local area. The price was also not an issue in Singapore or Hong Kong, where Kim Hyun Joong recently performed.

In related news, Kim Hyun Joong will soon be launching his Asia Tour, starting in Singapore and traveling to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and more.

MC Sniper disses comedian Lee Soo Geun?

Posted: 20 Apr 2012 06:56 AM PDT

Rapper MC Sniper, who recently made a comeback with his 6th album, fell into some misunderstanding about a supposed insult towards comedian Lee Soo Geun in his single “Better Dayz“.

MC Sniper collaborated with the musicians under his agency, Sniper Sound, for the track, which has a verse that states, “these talks behind my back, this talking is so funny”. Because Lee Soo Geun’s name sounds like “this talking” in Korean, many were confused as to whether it was an innocent mistake or if MC Sniper was actually making a diss towards the comedian.

The agency, Sniper Sound, responded by stating that the verse was just a punch line that was meant to be a fresh, shocking expression to hip-hop listeners.  They asserted that the lyrics were not referring to any name. Sniper Sound also added that these misunderstandings may just be another way that the public is showing interest towards the new album.

MC Sniper is currently receiving much love from hip-hop fans for his 6th album, ‘Full Time‘.

KARA’s Japanese fans the first to donate rice for a concert in Japan

Posted: 20 Apr 2012 06:14 AM PDT

Fans of KARA introduced Korea’s fan donation culture to Japan with rice donations for the group’s Japanese tour concert.

Rice wreaths and flowers have been spotted at Yokohama and Nagoya for KARA’s Japanese ‘Karasia‘ tour, which kicked off on April 14th.

The rice flowers and wreaths were specially donated by KARA’s Japanese fans. These types of flowers and wreaths are hard to find at other Japanese venues. It was also reported that many Japanese fans were lined up on the first floor where the rice wreaths were placed, to carefully examine the rice wreaths, which they had never seen before in their lives.

CL Production, who is in charge of managing KARA’s Japanese activities, explained, “Rice wreaths that were specially donated by fans could not be found at Japanese venues before. This is the first time Japanese fans have come together to donate rice for a concert.”

Rice wreaths, up until now, had been unique to Korea, where fans would send flowers and a set amount of rice to the concert venue to cheer on their favorite artist(s). After the concert, the rice would then be donated in the artist’s name to people in need.

KARA started their Japanese tour on the 14th in Yokohama, and is scheduled to tour Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Saitama.
