On the 24th, Hyung Don & Dae Joon member Defconn featured as a guest along with Lee Chang Myung, Solbi, and Mighty Mouth‘s Sangchu on ‘Radio Star‘. He talked about the difficulties he faced, starting with his name.
Defconn stated, “My friend who I lived with while I was doing music created the name for me. If you say Dae Joon fast, it becomes Def. Def also means ‘best’ in hip hop terms. My friend made the name for me, but we ended on bad terms. I thought about whether to use it or not for a while, but I already used it on the internet.”
Solbi replied, “Didn’t you start doing well after you used the name Dae Joon? Then Dae Joon is right for you.” Defconn agreed, “Since I used Defconn, everything went bad, so I went to see a fortune teller. She told me to get rid of my permed hair, and that I’d do well once my hair was short. I did, and everything’s going well. I’m happy now.”
He also added, “I always lost out, but ever since Hyung Don and Dae Joon, I’m making a profit.”
Do you prefer the name Defconn or Dae Joon for the rapper?
