IU reveals that she nearly dated someone recently on ‘Go Show’

Posted: 02 Nov 2012 09:27 AM PDT

IU shared a story about her recent love life.

The singer was a guest on the October 2nd episode of SBSGo Show‘. When she was asked about dating, she confessed, “I’ve never dated anyone after I initially debuted. No one asked me out.

She continued, “There was no one in the beginning around the time of my debut, but there was someone recently. Usually, when I get asked this question, I just say I never dated anyone since my debut. But recently, I almost did date someone, but it didn’t work out. He sort of tried to test my emotions, so I just told him I was going to stop talking to him. I noticed that he’d read my messages, but he wouldn’t respond until much later, so I realized he was trying to play a little.” After revealing she rejected him, she continued, “He told me that he couldn’t understand, and I replied, ‘We don’t have enough feelings for each other to date right now, but it’s weird to go back to a place when we didn’t know each other, so I’m going to just stop talking to you.’

She also complained, “If he expressed more and I was sure that he liked me, I could have told him that I liked him too, but he just kept making me confused. We’d be messaging each other, and then he would say nothing while we were talking about something important. We were talking about our feelings for each other, and he just stopped talking. And then he would say he just went to take a shower.

IU then said, “I go crazy when I can’t contact people. I feel like they’re fooling around with me. If they check the message but don’t respond, I think to myself, ‘I’m the only one that’s obsessed. I have to stop’. Because I’m like that, I don’t want to date anyone until I’m 100% certain. I don’t know why people act like that.

When asked if she’d ever publicly date, she said, “I’m going to hide it for as long as possible. Fans told me to make sure I don’t get caught, that I could do whatever I want but they asked me not to hurt them. Fans always tell me to hide it.

Girls’ Generation’s teaser photos for ‘Girls & Peace’ receiving attention for similarity to past airline photos

Posted: 02 Nov 2012 09:06 AM PDT

Girls’ Generation teaser photos have been receiving attention for their similarity to past photos.

The girls have released teaser photos for their second Japanese album ‘Girls & Peace‘. The theme of the photos was flight attendants, and the girls dressed up in various retro flight attendant clothing to show off their charm. However, fans noticed that the teaser photos looked too similar to photos of PSA Airline stewardesses’ in 1962 and Southwest Airline stewardesses in 1971.

In one photo, the girls are dressed in a pink and red outfit complete with red caps and red heels, and are posing on top of an airplane wing. In 1962, PSA Airline stewardesses posed in an outfit that was almost exactly the same, complete with red caps and heels, and had also posed on top of an airplane wing.

In another photo, the girls are dressed in yellow and orange with white boots, and are posing on a staircase that leads up to the airplane. Southwest Airlines had their stewardesses dressed in yellow and orange with white boots, posing on a staircase leading up to the airplane in the same exact pose.

When netizens saw the photos, their opinions were divided. Some argued that stewardesses all wore similar clothes, and that many airlines posed in similar ways. They argued, “Then ‘Genie’ should be accused of plagiarizing marine outfits“, “It’s not plagiarizing, that’s just how the airline retro concept is like“.

However, others did not agree. They pointed out that the uniforms could have been different by simply changing to different colors. They also pointed out that the poses could have been mixed up but were not, and even had the exact same backgrounds. They commented, “It’s not even referencing, it’s just a copy“, “The uniforms are exactly the same“, and “Girls’ Generation is pretty, but I think these pictures are a bit too much“.

What do you think about the photos?

We’re family from the same label, so I hope the fans will stop.
