Earlier today, Psy’s “Gangnam Style” surpassed Justin Biebers‘ “Baby” to become the Most viewed Video of all time on YouTube!
What’s amazing about this feat is that it took Psy a little over 4 months to accomplish this feat while Justin Bieber’s “Baby” was uploaded back on February 19, 2010.

The MCs had originally asked him if he had any recent achievements to brag about, but Kim Tae Woo offered to boast about his wife instead. He began, “My wife is a graduate of ‘S’ university.”
Go Hyun Jung guessed, “Silla University?”, leading Kim Tae Woo to reply back, “She has a Ph.D. in biotechnology from Seoul University. She’s fluent in English, Korean, Japanese, and Spanish, and although she’s only a year younger than me, she has a youthful beauty to her.”
Kim Tae Woo stated, “I have this stereotype of people that study well not being able to play as hard, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she knew a lot of the popular pop songs while dining with her at a restaurant. A few days later, I gathered up our friends and took her to a night club. She normally dresses conservatively, but came out with her hair let loose and wearing a black mini one-piece that night. I was so surprised at how beautiful she looked.”
He continued, “My favorite song came on so I went out to dance and my wife followed suit with a sexy dance including the wave. I was a bit surprised, thinking in my head that she was a Seoul University student. We ended up hanging out until 6 a.m. but my wife didn’t even get a wink of sleep before she was out the next morning saying she had to go to work.”
Reflecting on the ‘double charms’ of his wife, he concluded, “In the taxi ride back home, I felt my heart fluttering at discovering this new side to her. I remember thinking, ‘She goes to school wearing glasses and looks into microscopes at work.’”

Through his roles in dramas such as ‘Protect the Boss‘ and ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin‘, JYJ‘s Jaejoong has proven his competence as a formidable actor. However, he recently revealed in an interview that he wanted to try something different after his more serious roles.
This urge led him to consider ‘Code Name Jackal’ (directed by Bae Hyung Joon), where he would be able to play a more comedic character. “I always want to show something new about myself,” he confessed. “With ‘Code Name Jackal’, I wanted to do that. I’ve always played serious, heavy roles, so I wanted to spread the word that there are other sides of me, too.”
“Through my character [in 'Code Name Jackal'], I wanted to play a more trickster, sarcastic role,” he revealed. “A lot of my personal self is melted into my ‘Jackal’ character.”
Although the film itself is not doing as well as he had hoped – against big names such as ‘Wolf Boy‘ and overseas releases – Jaejoong considered the experience to be worth it. “Personally, the mere fact that I did a film was a great chance and opportunity. Of course we must consider the success of the film, but I feel that the movie was a way for me to show myself. It was a wonderful chance and I gained many things as well. I think that acting for this film gave me strength in life, as well as giving me motivation for music.”
While filming, Jaejoong experienced the true craziness and rush of a film set. “We really filmed like crazy,” he said. “I often dozed in the middle of shooting. If I ate, I would’ve given up on sleep; if I slept, I would’ve given up on eating. In order to combine the two, I ate vitamin supplements.”
Despite his grueling and hectic schedule as an actor and artist, Jaejoong sometimes thinks about a normal life. When asked what he would like to do if he had the chance to be an ordinary citizen, he answered, “Firstly, I want to go to a bustling roadside stand. I’d eat tasty food and have a drink, then get over my hangover the day after. Then I’d go shopping and sightseeing. It’s been 8 years since I’ve visited Dongdaemun [a landmark in Seoul]. I also want to go to the amusement park and go on all the rides I want. I’ve visited a few times due to filming, but I’ve never been on anything.”
However, Jaejoong also recognized the benefits of his celebrity status, especially pointing out his fans that had supported him since his debut. “I’ve had many incidents and fallen on hard times, and every time I’m grateful to my fans,” he said. “Because I was with you, I was able to get over my suffering and pain.”
One particular encounter with a fan is emblazoned into his memory, Jaejoong recounted. “I once told a fan to study hard prior to the exam, and she ended up placing first. There’s also a fan who got into Waseda University in Japan. It was a moment where I realized the importance of my relationship with my fans.”
“For those of you who have yet to watch ‘Code Name Jackal’, I hope you’ll go into it with an easy mindset and ready to laugh. There are a lot of positive traits hidden in our movie. The more you see it, the more film-like it becomes. Thanks for your interest.” he finished.

‘Immortal Song 2′ staff members revealed, “Park Hyun Bin, who’s known to be friendly with a good sense of humor, showcased a charismatic image and surprised everyone by performing a rearranged song other than the trot genre. We believe it was a stage performance where he successfully showed a 180 degree image transformation.”
This episode will air as a two part special on November 24th and December 1st.

During a well-recieved run on ‘Immortal Song 2‘ earlier this year, INFINITE‘s leader and main vocal Sunggyu showed us that he may just have what it takes to go solo. With solo artists ruling the charts right now, it makes sense that INFINITE would test the waters of solo activities, and who better to start things off than their leader?
Sunggyu originally joined Woolim Entertainment because he loved their indie-rock band Nell and wanted to be in a group like theirs, so it’s no suprise that he tries his hand at fronting a rock band in his lead single, “60 Seconds“. While the song isn’t at all bad, it also isn’t at all innovative. The instrumentation and arrangement is very generic and lacks the tailored sound you want to hear in a solo single. While Sunggyu’s interesting voice lends a special quality to the song, his vocals shouldn’t have to do all the work here.
Unfortunately, “I Need You” swings too far in the opposite direction. While it’s pretty, it’s so understated that it stifles much of what makes Sunggyu’s vocals distinctive, making the song feel like a filler. Around three minutes in, he finally has a few distinctive-sounding notes, but at that point it’s too little too late. Both “60 Seconds” and “I Need You” are enjoyable listens, but neither gives us an idea of who Sunggyu is as a soloist, which is a problem when they’re the first two solo songs we hear from him- a problem that could make Sunggyu’s debut forgettable.
Smack-dab in the middle of the album is Sunggyu’s acoustic cover of INFINITE’s “Only Tears“. He’s performed an impressive solo rendition of this song in concert before, so it’s not entirely a suprise that the song popped up on this album, and I’m sure lots of Inspirits are happy to have an official recording of Sunggyu’s version of this song (which I personally prefer to the original). While it’s definitely a better song for Sunggyu than the previous two, I had hoped that the first really good song on the album would be new material instead of a re-recording of an INFINITE song.
“Shine“, written, arranged, and produced by Kim Jongwan of Nell, is a step in the right direction. This 90′s soft-rock style is something no one else is doing in K-Pop right now, and suits Sunggyu pretty well. However, it’s the final track on the album, “41 Days“, where I feel Sunggyu really hits his stride, covering all of the points the other songs on this album miss.
Style-wise, “41 Days” falls somewhere between SISTAR‘s sad-disco of “Alone” and miss A‘s sinister-disco of “Touch” (genre titles courtesy of TheProphetBlog‘s review of “Alone”), but with an ethereal, atmostpheric quality to it that puts a new spin on K-Pop’s nigh inescapable disco influences. The vocals sound distinctively like Sunggyu and work with the song to create something interesting (unlike “60 Seconds”, where his vocals struggle to make something interesting in spite of the song). It’s worth noting that this is the only song Sunggyu had a hand in writing- could the missing ingredient in the rest of this album be Sunggyu’s participation in creating his own material?
It takes half of the album for Sunggyu to finally find his identity as a soloist, but when he does, it works beautifully. If he wants to be able to stand on his own as a legitimate solo artist rather than being a member of INFINITE who sometimes does solo projects, he and his team are going to have to get a firmer grasp on what makes him unique and create music around it, instead of trying to force his uniqueness into material that doesn’t do him justice.
Score note: (didn’t score “another me” since it’s just an intro)

Baek Ah Yeon flustered J.Y. Park with her desire to attend his 19+ concert. The conversation happened on Twitter, where J.Y. Park first tweeted, “The reason why this concert is a ‘Bad Jazz Bar’ is because you’re going to feel like you’re at a very adult like jazz bar instead of at a concert. It’s an adult jazz bar where there are flashy instruments, dangerous dances, and sticky songs playing throughout the entire night..” In reply, Baek Ah Yeon wrote, “I’m looking forward to it, PD hehehehe“. Her response flustered J.Y. Park, who responded, “Ah, you can come into 19+ concerts. Mm… Something is awkward… Mm… It’s going to be really sexual… Are you sure you can come in? ^^;;“. Fans couldn’t help but laugh at the conversation, replying, “Baek Ah Yeon is an adult, right…“, “But still, Baek Ah Yeon going to an adult’s concert is weird!“, and “J.Y. Park is kind of cute“.
