Busker Busker’s hiatus brings up questions

Posted: 08 Nov 2012 05:25 AM PST

Ever since Busker Busker declared they were on hiatus this past summer, there have been rumors of discord among the group’s members.

Their decision to turn down the offer to appear at the ‘Mnet Asian Music Awards‘ (‘MAMA’) this year has further fueled speculation on the matter. The Busker Busker members are reported to have gone incognito since Brad‘s wedding this past August.

However, CJ E&M stated on the 8th: “[There's no trouble among the members]. It’s just that they’re currently taking a hiatus from promotions.” Superstar K‘ judge Lee Seung Chul commented, “As it was a place for them to get close to their fans, they should’ve [accepted the offer to appear].”

Though Busker Busker’s contract with CJ E&M ended in June this year, it appears there are no solid plans for the trio to sign with another agency.

One insider stated, “After trying to work with a certain producer, they didn’t go forward with the project. It seems that rather than which agency to join, they’re more focused on doing things in their own style.”

Amy opens up about her time in jail

Posted: 08 Nov 2012 04:31 AM PST

Entertainer Amy, who was sentenced to prison earlier this fall for the illegal use of propofol, opened up about her time in jail.

On tvN‘s ‘E-news – The Decisive Blow‘, Amy revealed, “I met a lot of people in prison. I used the room with nine other people. It was my first time living with someone else. I realized the joy of small things. Being in prison was actually better for me. I returned to square one, and I earnestly realized I’d done something wrong. It was like I went back to my more innocent days.

Amy continued, “I learned a lot of things thanks to the prosecutor I met while I was being investigated. It was a hard lesson. I don’t want to change the things I decided in the process. I don’t think anyone should try to resolve bad things with bad things.

Amy was arrested after she was found to be abusing the drug propofol. She was declared guilty and sentenced to two years of probation by the jury and 8 months of jail time if she violates her probation. She was also ordered to complete 40 hours of community service as well as 24 hours of drug rehabilitation lectures.

However, netizens were not amused by her declaration. Many were disturbed that she was allowed to appear on television a mere four days after her sentencing when those with lesser crimes had stayed away from the public eye for much longer time periods.

Many criticized her statements, saying, “Lots of people work hard without having to go to jail“, “There is no one who returned so early to TV after substance abuse", and “Amy, I don’t want to see you on TV yet“.
