On December 6th, many artists attended the ‘20th Korea Cultural Entertainment Awards‘.

The award ceremony was held on the 6th at the Seoul 63 City Building on Yeouido island. The main ceremony gave out six Daesangs, including the ‘Cultural Entertainment Daesang‘, ‘Traditional Song Daesang‘, ‘New Generation Song Daesang‘, ‘Broadcast Daesang‘, ‘Movie Daesang‘, and ‘Culture Daesang‘.

At the award ceremony, T-ara won ‘Best Idol Group‘, while D-Unit and LEDApple won ‘Best Rookie Idol Group‘.

Aurora won the ‘Popular Idol Award‘, TOUCH won the ‘Teen Rookie Idol Group‘, and Son Dam Bi took home the ‘Best Rookie Award‘ not for her singing career, but for her acting in ‘Light and Shadow‘.

D-Unit took to their me2day after winning their award and wrote, “Hello~~ We won the rookie award at the 20th Korea Cultural Entertainment Awards today!!! We weren’t even thinking about it, but we received an award, so we were so surprised ㅜㅜ Thank you so much to all our fans who suffered because of us! ㅜ We’ll take it as the whip that’s telling us to work harder from now on, and be even better! Thank you so much again^___^♥” and uploaded a selca.

LEDApple also to to their Twitter and wrote, “We got the rookie award (+_+)!! We’ll become a LEDApple that works even harder!! LEDAs, we love you(♥.♥)“. Son Dam Bi also tweeted, “I got the rookie award ^^ hehe. I’ll work harder♥“.

INFINITE’s Sunggyu to end promotions for “60 Seconds” this week

Sunggyu will be ending his promotions for “60 Seconds” this week.

The first INFINITE member to pursue a solo career will be holding his last stage for “60 Seconds” on the December 9th episode of ‘Inkigayo‘. As Sunggyu made his solo debut only two weeks ago, fans were saddened to see him go so quickly.

His label said, “Sunggyu will be ending his “60 Seconds” promotions on ‘Inkigayo’ this week. He filmed a music video for the song “I Need You“, but we haven’t decided if he will promote with a follow-up song yet because there are a lot of special programs for the end of the year.

Super Junior’s Leeteuk receives accolades for perfect marks in shooting

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk received the title of ‘The King of Shooting‘ in the army.

On December 5th, Leeteuk finished 5 weeks of basic training and he’s set to work on the musical ‘The Promise‘. During the basic training graduation ceremony at the training facility, Leeteuk stepped forward and commanded the entire group as the squadron leader. He was also awarded for receiving perfect marks in shooting, reportedly hitting every bullseye on target from start to finish at the shooting skills test.

JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment to actively pursue underage malicious netizens

JYJ‘s agency C-JeS Entertainment has announced that it will continue to actively file suits against netizens who make malicious comments and spread false rumors, including netizens who may be minors.

The agency stated on December 6th, “We have reported about 20 some cases to the cyber police this year, and we’ll continuously notify the police of more cases of people who leave malicious comments concerning JYJ. Though we expected the situation to improve, it has not improved at this point in time, so we’re actively releasing a statement.”

The representative went on, “The netizens who leave malicious comments range in age from their teens to late twenties. There are times that underage netizens will ask to be forgiven due to reasons such as school and their future. Though we’ve previously accepted written apologies and made mutual agreements, this has not eradicated the malicious comments and rumors.”

“We cannot say that simply expressing that one dislikes JYJ is malicious. We’re talking about false news that start with ‘I heard from someone I knew’ or ‘I saw them’ that cannot be trusted.”

C-JeS Entertainment has released a statement on its official homepage and have notified various news sites of the warning.

Kim Hyun Joong revealed to have anonymously donated $46,000 USD to Red Cross

It was recently revealed that the anonymous person who donated 50 million Won ($46,144 USD) to the Korean National Red Cross is in fact SS501‘s Kim Hyun Joong.

One insider stated on December 6th, “I heard that Kim Hyun Joong recently anonymously donated 50 million Won to the Korean National Red Cross to help out those in need.” The Red Cross commented, “It’s true that a famous celebrity donated 50 million Won on December 3rd. The donator insisted that he be kept anonymous, so we cannot reveal his identity.”

Kim Hyun Joong also seems to have kept it from his own agency, Key East, as they reported they knew nothing of the donation.

Mighty Mouth’s Sangchu receives awards for best soldier in division

Hip hop duo Mighty Mouth‘s Sangchu received awards for best soldier in his division after completing his new recruit training.

Sangchu posted to Twitter on December 6th, “I’ve already finished the new recruit training ceremony. It was painful, but I didn’t go to the nurse’s office once and worked hard to get 1st place in both the shooting and physical strength tests. I received a commendation from [my superior], and got 4 days and 5 nights off as well as the honor of being the best soldier. Yahoo! I miss you all. Loyalty!”

The idol posted to Twitter on December 6th, “The color pick that I like ~~ I feel like my hair has become warmer ^^. Yoo-hoot!” He also attached two photos of his brand new hot pink hair. Though Yesung has previously rocked a bleached-blond look as well as darker hair colors, this is the first time he’s gone for something so bright.

The ‘Nice Guy‘ actor was a guest on the December 4th episode of ‘Strong Heart‘, where he was asked, “Did you post on your SNS account before you came on ‘Strong Heart’?

Lee Sang Yeob answered that he had, and revealed the list he prepared for the show. A day before the ‘Strong Heart’ recording, Lee Sang Yeob had tweeted, “I have the ‘Strong Heart’ recording tomorrow. What should I say? What should I talk about [on] ‘Strong Heart’? Comedians turned musicians Brave Guys of ‘Gag Concert previously announced their retirement from the music industry, but it seems that member Shin Bora has other thoughts.

The comedian started her music career with the gag group and moved on to release her first solo song “Crying with Longing” for SBS‘ ‘Phantom‘ OST. Brave Guys also revealed their first and last albumA to Z‘ as well as the music video for its title trackGrowing Distant” recently.

Shin Bora seems to be leaving her options open. One representative stated, “She’s planning to focus on KBS‘ ‘Gag Concert’. Though talks of album promotions haven’t been laid out in detail, she’ll consider it if a good opportunity comes along.”

Kim Kibum cast in leading role in his first Chinese drama

Kim Kibum (Super Junior) has been cast in a leading role in his first Chinese drama.

According to SM Entertainment, he’ll be playing the lead in ‘Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils‘. The drama is based on a novel of the same name written by famous novelist Jin Yong in the 1960s. The story revolves around the ‘Eight Races’ of non-human beings in Buddhist mythology. Kibum will be playing the kind, simple prince Duan Yu from the Kingdom of Dali.

Kibum commented, "I'm honored to play such a great role in a great production. As it’s my first Chinese drama, I’m quite nervous, but I've discussed my character with the director (Samson Lai), and I will do my best to flawlessly portray Duan Yu's character as best I can."

He’ll be acting alongside Hong Kong actor Wallace Chung and Chinese actress Meng Zhang. The drama is planned to premiere in China in the latter half of 2013.

Fans of Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri celebrated “Yuri Day”. The idol star turned 23 years of age (Korean age: 24) on December 5th.

“Black pearl” Yuri has been known to keep in shape through yoga and for taking special care of her health, even minding the health of her fellow Girls’ Generation members. Her fans printed an advertisement in a daily newspaper to congratulate her on her birthday.

Yuri’s fans also participated in charity work on December 1st for the concert held by the RP Society in Gangnam as she’s currently the endorsement model for the organization.

Boom got caught red-handed on a date.

What caught the attention of people during the December 4th broadcast of SBS’Strong Heart‘ was a date between Park Min Ha and Boom. Park Min Ha revealed, “Uncle Boom buys me a lot of toys, and there was a time when we played until 10:00 at night together.

She continued, “On that day, we went to the aquarium and saw sea creatures, watched a movie, and ate delicious food. Uncle Boom told me that his car moves on its own and began to drive using only his knees,” and shared the cute date they had together.

However, Park Min Ha’s father Park Chan Min, who also appeared on the show said, “The interesting thing is that Min Ha came home in a different outfit than the one she wore when she left. Her hair was tied when she left, but when she came back it was undone. Everything about her outfit changed. That was strange.

The MCs then asked Park Min Ha, “Was an auntie there that day?” and Park Min Ha responded, “Yes, there was a very pretty aunt. She wasn’t at the aquarium with us, but she showed when we ate.”

'Gag Concert's Brave Guys have revealed their music video for “Growing Distant” from their first and their last album, 'A to Z'.

This album is said to contain all the various types of music the members wanted to try out before they officially retire from their singing careers and focus on their main field of expertise, making people laugh. The album contains three previous releases and seven new songs for a total of 10 tracks.

The title track "Growing Distant" is a song with piano and strings that exposes the more emotional side of the members.

Solbi to donate all profits from her ‘Love+Cherish+Keep’ exhibition to the elderly

Solbi will be donating all the profits from her ‘Love + Cherish + Keep‘ exhibition to elderly people who live alone.

Solbi, pop artists Art Nom and Charles Jang, and actors Kim Seung Hyun and Woo Mi Jin will be opening an exhibition that encourages people to care for animals in shelters. The five artists who participated in the event will also be selling donated products and ceramic pet food dishes as well.

All of the profits from the exhibition and bazaar will be donated to elderly persons who live alone. The director of the exhibition commented, “The precious animals in shelters should not be abused or put down, but they should be shown love and understanding instead. We planned this exhibition to appeal to people’s emotions, and then wondered how we could help the ones who are lonely and separated from society at the end of the year. We have decided to donate the profits to the elderly who live alone [in consideration of the upcoming] cold winter.

Solbi commented, “I have pets too, so this exhibition meant a lot to me. The concept of the exhibition is ‘life and love,’ so I’m glad I could be with those who love sheltered animals, and I’m glad to be even a little help to those who are lonely and cold in the winter. I hope everyone can spend a warm end of the year together.

The ‘Love + Cherish + Keep’ exhibition will be held at the connoi-space gallery on December 15th.

Still cuts of Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Young on the set of ‘Wolf Boy’ revealed

Still cuts from the hit movie ‘Wolf Boy‘ featuring stars Park Bo Young and Song Joong Ki hard at work on set have been revealed. ’Wolf Boy’ has been a huge success, attracting over 7,000,000 viewers from around the nation.

In the newly released still cuts, the actors are clearly very into their work. The general atmosphere of the photos seem very happy, which indicates the pleasant work environment on the movie set.

One of the cuts also shows Song Joong Ki preparing for a CG shot as the wolf boy, giving some insight as to how those scenes were created.

‘Wolf Boy’ is about a boy named Chul Soo (Song Joong Ki), who has been abandoned by the world, and Soonee (Park Bo Young), who has chosen to close herself off from the world as well as their love story and tragic heartbreak. The film will be re-released starting on December 6th, featuring a new video as part of the story.

Lee Hyori expressed her anger against invasive reporters.

On the 5th, Lee Hyori tweeted, “I’m getting really angry for the first time in a while because of reporters who force their cameras after they find my innocent family who don’t know anything… I’m going to go roll around in the snow.” The star was referring to the reporter who had sought out her older sister and conducted an interview with her.

It appears that she did hang out in the snow for a bit as she later added, “Oh dear! Let’s laugh,” and attached a photo of a snowman.
