Last year, J.Y. Park had lost the initial case claiming that he had plagiarized the ‘Dream High‘ OST “Someday” from Kim Shin Il‘s “To My Man“. After losing the case, he then appealed the ruling and their court date had been rescheduled to January.
On January 23rd at 2:10 PM KST, the appeal case was held. In the original ruling from the lower court, J.Y. Park was stated to pay the composer 21,672,752 KRW (approximately $19,000 USD) in damages. However, he lost his appeal and was ruled to instead pay 56,930,710 KRW (approximately $54,000 USD). The higher amount stems from the profits of “Someday” up until the 23rd.
J.Y. Park plans to appeal the ruling once again to the Supreme Court.

For the first time since CNBLUE’s debut, a song written and composed by Yonghwa has been used as their title track. His agency FNC Entertainment acknowledged his talent by making “I’m Sorry” the title track for their album ‘Re:Blue‘, and his song is proving its worth by ranking in the top five on various online music charts.
Yonghwa has even created songs for his juniors Juniel and AOA, and after concluding his promotions last year, he focused his attention on songwriting. Yonghwa confessed, “I felt the pain of composing for the first time.”
Now that he has become an acknowledged songwriter, many artists are coming up to him and asking if they can have one of his songs. Even seniors have come up to him to ask for a song, and Yonghwa shared about that instance, explaining, “At an award ceremony last year, I met TVXQ’s Yunho, and he asked me, ‘Can you write a song that will be included in our 10-year anniversary album?’ ZE:A‘s Kwanghee has also made a similar request."
The number of people asking Yonghwa for songs has increased, and he appreciates the attention, but he is hesitant to give his songs to an artist other than CNBLUE. He explained, “I felt really good when I heard that I have been receiving many requests to write songs, but I don’t feel comfortable about participating in other artists’ albums yet.”
He also shared his ambition on writing different genres, stating, “When I wrote songs for my juniors, it was fun making songs from different genres like dance and ballad. I want to create a variety of songs.“

There are now reports that the recent KakaoStory conversation involving T-ara‘s Soyeon, Sua, and Yoon Ee Na was edited. Many fans are alleging that malicious netizens edited the original conversation to make Soyeon look bad due to T-ara’s bullying controversy.
One insider claimed, “I think it became a scandal because [parts of Soyeon's conversation was edited out.] The conversation wasn’t directed at any actress or celebrity. It was about an actual stitch on an acquaintance’s clothing.”
The claim echoes Core Contents Media earlier statements that "Soyeon and Soyeon's acquaintances were not speaking in regards to a specific celebrity… The topic of 'Stitch’ came about because the tiger drawing on the shirt of the brand’s logo resembled 'Stitch' the character, and since a graduate student unni Soyeon knows wears that brand of clothing every time they meet, that is why they were talking about it.”
It was also revealed that in the original KakaoStory conversation, a photo of the acquaintance in question was shared. A screenshot of the full discussion show that the “Angry Sitch” and “Old Stich” comments were not about a person but rather about the crumpled logo on the acquaintance’s t-shirt.
The insider concluded, “It seems like T-ara’s controvery last year cause hateful netizens to cause problems. I’m really upset that people are spreading rumors like this and blowing things out of proportion.”
