‘Knee-Drop Guru’ criticized on handling of interview with The Wachowskis

Posted: 04 Jan 2013 08:08 AM PST

This week's episode of Knee Drop Guru featured none other than the creative Wachowski siblings, famed for being the masterminds behind movies such as The Matrix franchise, V for Vendetta and more recently, Cloud Atlas. While the news of the pair's appearance had many film aficionados brimming with excitement, fans were left disappointed by the episode, criticizing the hosts' attitude towards their guest and the lack of substance in their interview questions.

While fans of the Wachowskis' work expected the interview to focus on topics pertaining to the pair's work, the interview, however, often opted to much more satirical tones.

One instance saw comedian Kim Young Chul asking the siblings a question on Asian motifs in their films. The question, however, was cut short as Kim had trouble articulating the question in English, jokingly ending the question by asking the pair "Can you speak Korean?" instead. Another instance saw Kang Ho Dong interrupting Lana Wachowski while answering a question on the differences between Western and Eastern culture, stating that "If your answers take too long, it's hard for the PD to put in subtitles." Yoo Sae Yoon also commented, stating that while Andy "provides [them] with short answers, [her] answers always end up taking time."

Fans were also dissatisfied with the MC's choice of questions, criticizing their decision on solely focusing on topics irrelevant to the Wachowski siblings' work. Much of the interview consisted on overtly personal matters such as Lana's plastic surgery, whether they know of any Korean films and directors, actress Bae Doona's English skills and even a question regarding whether they like Tom Hanks' office better than their own.

Block B releases official position against Stardom Entertainment

Posted: 04 Jan 2013 07:32 AM PST

Block B has released an official position against Stardom Entertainment.

After the group announced their lawsuit against their label and Stardom Entertainment issued an official statement, Block B also revealed their stance through their law firm Shinwon.

The full report reads,

This is the official statement of the 7 members in response to Stardom Entertainment’s (Stardom below) statement on January 4th, 2013.

Firstly, we are very sorry to cause worry to all the fans who love and care for Block B from the start of the new year.

The Block B members took a long time thinking about their decision to nullify their contract and file for an injunction. However, they have come to their decision because of the many things that happened from the start of the contract with Stardom, which [caused them to decide that they] cannot trust Stardom anymore. We would like to let you know that the choice was unavoidable.

Stardom currently states that they have straightened out all the profit [issues] as if there was a mutual agreement about the balance distribution calculation, but this is false. The actual truth will all be revealed in court.

The explanation that Stardom gave about the previous CEO, Mr. Lee, is also false, and they are just trying to deny responsibility. Stardom has explicitly and implicitly agreed to use the title of CEO for Mr. Lee from the start.

On other matters, Stardom’s statement that the contract is nullified because of dissatisfaction about appearing on television and because of a mastermind behind the other members is also completely different from the truth. It is nothing but them trying to derogate the members’ unavoidable decision after careful consideration.

We respectfully ask Stardom to stop making comments that mislead the media and the public.

We apologize once again about causing worry to the fans. The Block B members promise to respond to the fans’ love with a more mature side.

‘I Miss You’ drops to last place in time slot

Posted: 04 Jan 2013 04:50 AM PST

MBC‘s ’I Miss You‘ dropped to last place in viewer ratings.

The ratings for Thursday’s episode of ‘I Miss You’ dropped to 10.4%, 0.5% lower than Wednesday. Not only did it fail to take over ‘Jeon Woo Chi‘ to reclaim its 1st place spot, it gave up second place to ‘The Great Seer‘.

‘The Great Seer’ saw a large jump in ratings from 8.8% on Wednesday to 10.8% on Thursday, pushing JYJ Yoochun‘s drama from the 2nd place spot. ‘Jeon Woo Chi’ rose 0.6% from its Wednesday ratings to 12.8% on Thursday, safely guarding its 1st place spot.

‘I Miss You’ only has 3 episodes to go and is at its climax, so the fact that ratings have dropped to last place puts the drama in a difficult situation. On the other hand, ‘Jeon Woo Chi’ has 10 episodes to go, and ‘The Great Seer’ has 12 episodes, meaning the two dramas still have opportunities to build their audience.

Arrest warrant filed against Go Young Wook

Posted: 04 Jan 2013 03:46 AM PST

Seoul’s Seodaemun Police Station has revealed that an arrest warrant was filed against Go Young Wook on January 4th KST.

The former Roo’ra member has been accused of sexual assault against a minor. According to the police, Go Young Wook approached 13-year-old Ms. Kim on the afternoon of December 1, 2012 on the streets of Seodaemun. After getting her to enter his vehicle, he allegedly pinched her thigh and molested her. Footage of the young girl entering Go Young Wook’s car has been captured and confirmed on CCTV.

It’s also been revealed that Go Young Wook told the young girl that he was a scout looking for singers.

The celebrity was accused of sexually assaulting another minor last year at his apartment, and recently Ms. Kim stepped forward to file charges against him as well. Though the police requested to issue an arrest warrant at the time, the courts reasoned that there was no indication that he would flee or destroy evidence.

One officer stated, “The reason the charges against Mr. Go have been delayed for months is because the complainant has not responded to [requests by the police to investigate]. He’s currently denying the charges.”

It’s been reported that Go Young Wook was interrogated for seven hours at the police station and has requested a lawyer.
