Sun is a dazzling bride in the Maldives for ‘Elle’

Posted: 25 Feb 2013 08:50 AM PST

Sun became a dazzling bride in white for ‘Elle‘!

We knew she had a wedding pictorial special for the magazine, and saw one picture where she planted a kiss on her new husband’s lips.

Now, JYP Entertainment has revealed even more photos from her honeymoon in Maldives, where she ran around the white sand in sneakers that clashed cutely with her wedding dress and the beautiful blue water backdrop.

Not just that, but Sun also decided to pair her wedding dress up with goofy sunglasses, laughing the entire time she posed for the camera. She managed to make even funny sunglasses look gorgeous.

But of course, we can’t have a photoshoot without Sun looking just plainly gorgeous.

Channel A explain their statement which upset JYJ fans at Presidential Inauguration Ceremony

Posted: 25 Feb 2013 08:18 AM PST

Channel A explained what they meant by their statement.

On the 25th, many JYJ fans were excited as the boys performed on stage at the Presidential Inauguration Park Geun Hye. Not only was it a big honor but it was also the first time for the group to appear on broadcast television as a group. However, fans became a bit upset at Channel A for a statement made during JYJ’s performance.

During the performance, a male anchor stated, “This is messy. There’s something awkward. There should be lighting. We’ve always seen such fancy stages, so it doesn’t look like a show.” The female anchor for the station responded immediately, “It’s because it’s outside. President Park Geun Hye wanted a simple inauguration that many citizens could attend. Because of that, it’s different from the concerts we normally see.

The male anchor’s comment caused many JYJ fans to rise up and criticize the channel. With the influx of complaints, Channel A explained, “Because the inauguration stage was prepared in a simple way, the stage was quite narrow. They mean that it looked chaotic because of all the audience moving around, since it was the start of the performances.

Check out the performance below! What do you think?

Posted: 25 Feb 2013 07:34 AM PST

It appears Taecyeon will have the opportunity to expand his acting chops.

The 2PM rapper has been approached for a role on the movie ‘The Night Before the Wedding‘, a romantic comedy that revolves around 8 men and women. He hasn’t accepted the role yet and his label stated, “We’re looking over it optimistically, but there’s nothing confirmed as of yet. It’s hard to say anymore.

However, if he is cast for the movie, 2PM fans are in for a dilemma, because the movie will start filming in April. The boys are long overdue for a comeback, but if Taecyeon is too busy filming for a movie, they may push the comeback even more. What do you think?

Jay Park’s ad-lib almost causes Shin Dong Yeob to miss his lines on ‘SNL Korea’

Posted: 25 Feb 2013 05:00 AM PST

Shin Dong Yeob had a risky moment on tvN‘s ‘SNL Korea‘ thanks to Jay Park.

On Feburary 23rd broadcast of ‘SNL Korea’, Jay Park, Kim Seul Gi, and Shin Dong Yeob were acting out ‘Lee Ung Don PD’s Food X-File‘ when Jay Park improvised and added “Isn’t that Lee Ung Don?” [Lee Ung Don is the name of the SNL segment.]

Shin Dong Yeob started laughing upon hearing Jay Park’s ad-lib and couldn’t continue his lines for a moment. Since the show is run live, it would’ve lead to a broadcast accident. However, Shin Dong Yeob quickly controlled his laughter and overcame the risky moment.

Meanwhile, the first episode of this season’s ‘SNL Korea’ was hosted by actor Choi Min Soo.

Choi Min Soo parodied the movie ‘Holiday‘ where he donned a gold tooth and an umbrella.

In the parody, Choi Min Soo followed Jay Park around and killed off  those around him including his girlfriend and a doctor. Choi Min Soo made the viewers erupt in laughter by ending the parody with, “I thought I could have you if I do this.”

Is G.NA possibly teasing her comeback style with her recent selca?

Posted: 25 Feb 2013 04:12 AM PST

G.NA is known for treating her fans with frequent selca updates.

On February 23th, G.NA tweeted, “Dressing up for Spring after a long time! It’s slowly starting to feel real… Let’s be strong until the end! Hwaiting!~ ” sharing the above picture.

In addition to G.NA looking fresh with her see-through bangs and a tight orange striped shirt that showed off her blessed figure, the tweet itself seemed to be directed at her anticipated comeback.

As it was reported earlier, G.NA and Kahi are planning to take on the music scene once again with their sexy charisma. Although it’s too soon to decide if this will be G.NA’s new look for her comeback, it definitely adds to the anticipation.

[Staff Picks] Underrated Idols

Posted: 25 Feb 2013 12:25 AM PST

Get a glimpse of what we're talking about and listening to at the 6Theory office with this fun feature! We'll be offering you guys a personal selection of our favorite things from K-Pop.

In the world of K-Pop, the words Underrated/Overrated get thrown around more than idols changing their hairstyles. In this week’s Staff Picks, we thought it would be fun to pick 10 idols who we thought were underrated in the industry, whether it’s with their music, their dance, or their humor.

The group itself is underrated and so is the leader. This girl can sing, dance, and she even studied Fashion at Dongduk Women’s University. This beauty also tried her hand in acting through jTBC’s drama Monster. Like her group, she definitely deserves more attention. Check out her dance moves below!

After SchoolE-Young
When people see E-Young, a lot of people think, “Oh, it’s another new After School member”, or maybe even “She doesn’t fit the image of the group”. While it’s true that E-Young’s cute, girly looks are less fierce than the other members, E-Young doesn’t lose to anyone in terms of talent. Did you know she can play the guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums, piano, flute, and cello? Listen to her jam on the drums below!

You don’t see M.I.B much on variety shows, and they’re pretty much still rookies, so it’s hard for people to realize how funny these guys are. All of them have a great sense of humor, but 5zic can be funny without even trying. Check out a hilarious clip below with him trying to argue that whatever he’s trying to buy is too expensive – all in hilarious English.

miss AJia
How many people knew Jia can dance? Most people only associate Suzy with miss A, but Jia can hold her own, especially in dancing. She was one of the hand-standers in “Breathe”, and in “I Don’t Need A Man” she even has a dance solo for herself. And we’re not just talking sexy dancing as in shaking her hips – we’re talking legitimate hip hop. She’s the one in the white mask below.

Block BTaeil
In a group that’s heavily slanted toward rapping with 3 incredible rappers, the vocal line tends to be unintentionally shunned. It doesn’t help that Block B usually promotes songs that have barely any vocal lines. Even though Taeil is the group’s lead singer, he has frightfully little lines. In fact, most non-BBCs don’t even realize he’s the lead singer and just know of him as the ‘short one’. However, he has a vocal ability that’s respected by all the Block B members, especially by leader Zico who constantly fall in awe of the leader singer’s voice. Thankfully, Taeil had a solo song in Block B’s official album. Listen to it below!

U-KISS as a whole is underrated, especially with the level of skill they have in their choreography and live, and even how good they are on variety shows. However, their leader and main singer tends out to be pushed to the sidelines more than he ever should be. Non-KISSMEs really got a look at his explosive vocals with their hit “Neverland” where he perfectly belted out note after note, but he was pushed to the sidelines again for “Stop Girl” because it was a quieter song. Not only so, he tends to get overshadowed by members Dongho and Kevin, especially because Kevin himself has an amazing voice. But still, here’s to one of the best singers in K-pop.

4minute - Gayoon
Even though both Jiyoon and Gayoon are highly underrated in what is jokingly called ’4Hyuna’, Jiyoon had a chance to prove herself at singing on ‘Immortal Song 2‘. It’s a shame Gayoon is so overshadowed in the group, because she has an amazing voice that she knows how to use. Even in 4minute songs, Gayoon is given not much more than a long ad-lib note, and even that had been given to Jiyoon in “Volume Up“. Even worse, “24/7” does nothing for her incredible voice, where the only thing she gets to do that’s remotely impressive is a short adlib note where everything goes silent. You can listen to her actually show off her skills below. If you don’t want to listen to the whole thing, start at 2:15 and listen for about 15 seconds, but I really do suggest listening to the whole thing.

The most talented member in 2PM sadly happens to be also one of the least popular. Even though Junho isn’t the main singer, he has a better voice and control than Jun.K or Wooyoung do, and he is definitely the best dancer in the group. He acknowledged his getting overshadowed before, saying that even though he had done complicated double flips, Taecyeon’s shirt-tearing completely overtook his own dance moves. Check out his dancing below! He starts seriously dancing at the 0:21 mark.

Wonder Girls - Lim
As the newest member of Wonder Girls, Lim is often pushed aside from the spotlight because of her bandmates with a fan foundation. Lim is probably the best dancer in the group, but she doesn’t get to showcase that because Wonder Girls is more about easy, catchy dances that everyone can follow. Since she was raised in Hong Kong, she can speak English fluently, and can also speak Cantonese and Mandarin. She auditioned for JYP Entertainment through her dancing, and here’s a clip of her showing off how well she can dance. (With Fei and Jia as a bonus).

Urban Zakapa create first subunit for ‘Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek’ OST

Posted: 24 Feb 2013 11:52 PM PST

After the release of OST Part 1 for ‘Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek‘, Past 2 of the OST featuring Urban Zakapa‘s “Love Afternoon” has been revealed.

“Love Afternoon” successfully expresses the love the main character is feeling through its romantic lyrics about a fairy tale-like love along with the piano’s tranquil melody.

This is the first time the two male vocals Kwon Soon Il and Park Yong In sang a duet together and the combination of the two’s vocals delivered a fresh sound that is different from what was usually shown by Urban Zakapa.

On another note, this song will be used as the theme song for the main characters played by Jin Goo and Park Ha Sun.

B.A.P. makes learning their “One Shot” choreography easier with a “Let’s Dance” tutorial clip

Posted: 24 Feb 2013 11:09 PM PST

B.A.P have been busy promoting their new song “One Shot” to much fanfare, even ranking high on iTunes’ Hip-Hop charts and a #1 ranking on Billboard’s World Album chart.

Though the group is likely exhausted from their concerts this weekend, they haven’t forgotten you aspiring dancers. LOEN just released a choreography tutorial to help fans grasp the complex elements of each section of the dance via their ‘Let’s Dance‘ series.

Though the moves are complicated, the B.A.P members break up the dance bit by bit so that even non-experts can follow along. Have any of you attempted to cover the song?

Hyoyoung’s a pink-haired fairy for Davichi’s new MV

Posted: 24 Feb 2013 10:32 PM PST

5dollsHyoyoung will be going through a shocking change for Davichi!

Still cuts for Davichi’s MV for “Turtle” were released, and Hyoyoung sported bright pink, curly hair! She’s never had quite a startling image before, as she’d mostly opted for short black hair. This is a huge change for her, especially because she made herself familiar with the general public through ‘School 2013‘ where she had a plain bob.

The song “Turtle” is by Duble Sidekick. The full album itself will have songs from Vibe's Ryu Jae Hyun and Choi Kyu Sung. The album’s expected to be released on March 4th.

BTOB‘s Ilhoon treats fans to his version of the “Cutie Song” in the most aegyo-filled clip of 2013

Posted: 24 Feb 2013 10:01 PM PST

Although BTOB's Ilhoon may have just graduated from high school, but he is still clearly a kid at heart.

Earlier today, Cube Entertainment uploaded Illhoon’s version of the ”Cutie/Kiyumi Song“. If you watch Korean variety songs you will be familiar with the song since it s currently all the rage. Basically, there are stages of aegyo, each one a bit cuter than the last. It’s a running gag to get adults or people who wouldn’t normally do aegyo to sing the song, much to the laughter of those around them.

What makes Ilhoon’s so interesting is that he sings the song quite comfortably, with no signs of laughter or embarrassment. He sings with full abandon, adding his own unique and tons of uber-adorable hand gestures, winks and coy smiles.

Let Ilhoon’s cuteness wash over you while you watch the insanely cute clip below. Can there ever be too much aegyo?

If you haven’t passed out from a sweetness overdose, check out the cute-as-a-button 6-year-old Park Min Ha, Eunhyuk, Jisook, and actor Lee Dong Wook‘s versions on ‘Strong Heart’.

The song is the 5th part of the OST for the popular drama. It is an emotional ballad sung by none other than JK Kim Dong Wook. The song tells of a lover who has left.

The OST cover also features Yunho, so it’s possible that the song may become Yunho’s theme song in the drama. Listen to it below!

INFINITE’s Woohyun is up next in a duet project called “Cactus”

Posted: 24 Feb 2013 09:20 PM PST

Remember when we predicted that Woohyun might be up next as INFINITE‘s subunit/solo projects?

We were right! Woohyun will be releasing “Cactus” with singer Lucia on the 27th. The song is the 2nd project from ‘Re;code‘, the same project that produced the mega-hit ”Officially Missing You, Too” by Geeks and Soyu. While the project doesn’t really mean official promotions from Woohyun, you can still hear his amazing voice through the song.

The song originally comes in two versions, one by Epitone Project‘s Cha Se Jung and another by Lucia herself. In the re-edited version, Woohyun’s own voice will be mixing perfectly with Lucia’s original.

Are you looking forward to the song?

HyunA becomes the first Korean artist to grace the cover of England’s ‘POP’ magazine

Posted: 24 Feb 2013 08:24 PM PST

4minute‘s HyunA became the first Korean artist to grace the cover of ‘POP‘!

‘POP’ is a famous fashion magazine in England that the whole world watches for its trendy fashion and art. HyunA became its cover girl for the 28th issue, putting her right up there with other icons like Madonna, Britney Spears, Victoria Beckham, and Jennifer Lopez.

Editor Ashley Heath said, “HyunA became an icon of K-pop for Westerners through “Gangnam Style“. On YouTube, a few clicks turned into millions and tens of millions because of HyunA’s unique charm. HyunA is stylish, and can be called the prime example of our generation’s liveliness.

It’s a little disappointing that HyunA isn’t getting known for her own songs, but rather for her rendition of Psy’s song (as you can see by the #OPPAJUSTMYSTYLE on the cover). Nonetheless it’s nice to see her getting recognized for her own style as well.

Check out another photo of her from the magazine below!

Congratulations HyunA
