Hallyu star U-Know Yunho's Japanese fans recently made a donation to Gwangju's Fruits of Love foundation to help those in need.

According to Gwangju's Fruits of Love foundation, U-Know Yunho's Japanese fanclub 'Jung Yunho FanBlog Ring One' donated 20.6 million Won to the foundation to commemorate U-Know Yunho's birthday on the 6th of February.

His Japanese fans stated, "We knew that U-Know Yunho has been donating scholarships to his high school for the past eight years, and we thought that it would be more meaningful to make a donation than to give him expensive gifts," and "We would like to keep helping U-Know Yunho's hometown Gwangju this year."

Of the 20.6 million Won that was donated, 2.91 million Won will be used to buy rice for the families of low-income students in Imgok Middle School, and 17.69 million Won will be donated as scholarships for Imgok Middle School and U-Know Yunho's former school Gwangil High School.

Meanwhile, U-Know Yunho's Japanese fans have been continually making donations over the past few years. Last year, they donated 22 million Won and 1,1118 copies of TVXQ's album and have donated a total of 77 million Won since 2011.

'Ranking princes' JYJ have been chosen as the artistes Japanese women would most like to give chocolates to on Valentine's Day.

The Japanese Hallyu site 'Mpost' held a survey on the 31st of January labeled 'Which Hallyu Group would you most like to give Valentine's Day chocolates to?' with 1,000 female Hallyu fans between the ages of 10 and 70. Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu's group JYJ received 71.6% of the votes, topping the ranks with a landslide victory.

In the same survey that enquired about individual artistes, Kim Jaejoong, Kim Junsu and Park Yoochun came in at first to third place, proving just how popular JYJ are in Japan.

JYJ were followed by CODE-V, who made their Japanese debut last year, and TVXQ in second and third place. Others included in the rankings were Super Junior, Cho Shin Sung, and CN Blue.

Regarding the results, Mpost stated, "It was a complete victory for JYJ. It's amazing to see how popular they are, even without any Japanese activities."

The movie 'Berlin File' by director Ryoo Seung Wan ranked No. 1 at the box office by luring over 1.53 million moviegoers in the first weekend of its release on January 30.

The film has attracted more than 2.24 million viewers so far, hitting the 2 million mark in the shortest time of any films released in January or February, the low season for movies.

CJ Entertainment, the distributor of the action flick, expects 'Berlin File' to keep its strong showing this week during the lunar New Year's holiday.

The movie drew attention even before its release due to the star-studded lineup featuring Jeon Ji Hyun, Han Suk Kyoo, Ha Jung Woo and Ryoo Seung Bum. The flamboyant action scenes are apparently a particular draw.

On February 6, CNBLUE's agency FNC Entertainment announced that the band's 'Re:BLUE' special limited edition has been sold out in Japan. Having recently signed with new agency, Kim Jin Ho has been steadily preparing for his solo album 'Today - I Want to Share in Your Loneliness' which is set to be released on February 13. This marks the singer's first solo album since his debut in the music industry in 2004.

The album boast a total of 12 tracks which will be entirely written and composed by Kim Jin Ho himself. The songs are said to be different than SG Wannabe's style in that they be more personal.

According to Woollim Entertainment, INFINITE decided to hold their '2013 INFINITE – Infinite Rally' on March 1st at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Stadium at 5PM KST.

Zion T involved in minor car accident

After the heavy snowfall that hit Korea earlier in the week, it was revealed that up-and-rising singer Zion T was involved in a minor car accident.

His agency Amoeba Culture revealed on February 5 that Zion T was involved in an accident in the early mornings of February 4 after his car slipped on a patch of snow on the road, on his way back up from a performance in Busan.

Fortunately, the incident didn't lead to a severe crash and the injuries incurred by him and his manager were only minor. The agency is said to keeping an eye on Zion T's condition as his health must come before anything else.

The actors and actresses of the upcoming MBC drama 'Book of the House of Gu' including the two leads, Lee Seung Gi and Suzy, gathered together for the first script reading session at MBC's Dream Center in Ilsan on February 1.

'Book of the House of Gu' will be directed by Shin Woo Chul, who also worked on 'A Gentleman's Dignity,' 'Secret Garden,' 'Lovers of Prague' and 'Lovers of Paris' and written by Kang Eun Kyung of 'Baker King Kim Tak Gu'.

Cast members including Lee Seung Gi, miss A's Suzy, Lee Sung Jae, Lee Yeon Hee, Choi Jin Hyuk, Jung Hye Young and more attended the first script reading. This is Lee Seung Gi and Suzy's first historical drama series, and at the session, they transformed into their characters as a half-man half-beast Choi Kang Chi and martial arts instructor Dam Yeo Wool.

Lee Yeon Hee, who plays the role of Yoon Seo Hwa, a lady from a noble family, and Choi Jin Hyuk, who plays the role of Goo Wol Ryung, also read their parts.
