After 2PM‘s Nichkhun was sentenced for driving under the influence last year, the boy group revealed that the incident had made a large impact on their lives together.
For their comeback special ‘2PM Returns‘ on MBC, Nichkhun was interviewed on his scandal last year. “I’ll never forget that day,” he said. “I thought that I wasn’t human. I was so sorry to my fans and the members, I cried in front of them for the first time. I'm a foreigner, yet my fans accept me and pour out their love for me. But I felt like I betrayed and disappointed them. All I kept thinking about was how much my fans must be hurting."
“We had never taken a break after our debut,” Taecyeon remembered. “But after that, all of our schedules were gone. We were initially asked, ‘How about promoting without Nichkhun?’ But it doesn’t make sense to come back as a five-member group.”
Jun.K shared, “There were talks about possibly promoting as a subunit. But we all rejected the offer. We want to come back as six members."
“Even though it was a mistake, wrongdoing is wrongdoing,” Chansung said. “We might think badly on them for making a mistake, but at that time, I think that Nichkhun hyung himself was very dear to us.”
“We’ll work hard to bring back all of the fans that went away,” Nichkhun promised.

Comedian and current ‘Infinity Challenge‘ member Jung Jun Ha reflected on how he had grown over the past few years working in the entertainment industry.
At a youth festival recently held on the Han River, the variety star answered a question about the three things he had ‘eaten’ the most of during his years as a comedian.
For the first thing, he picked ‘criticism’ as something he had eaten a lot of. “I ate a lot of it,” he said. “I watched an old broadcast of ‘Infinity Challenge’ the other day. Park Myung Soo was saying something, and my face was scrunched up into a frown. I couldn’t look at myself anymore.”
“It was very hard before, but somewhere, I was able to find myself and win over problems, and I could show off my happy face. I often tell myself that I’ve changed a lot,” he reflected. “I used to feel unfairly beat on before, but nowadays I’m much more easygoing. Since I ate so much criticism before, perhaps that contributed to the grown-up me today,” he said.
Secondly, he chose old age. “‘Infinity Challenge’, for me, is a program which I switch between hating and loving,” he said. “When I have thoughts about how much longer I’ll be able to do the show because of my age, I switch between being happy and being depressed at the thought.”
For the third item, he counted love as another answer. “After I met my wife, I thought that I needed to work even harder and love even more. It’s the biggest happiness in my life,” he said. “Before, I had a quick temper and couldn’t control my emotions, but nowadays, I’ve grown more easygoing.”
“It’s not easy speaking in front of a lot of people. I’m not a person with good specs, but if I tell my story, then maybe I’ll be able to influence some of you into thinking, ‘even that person can turn out like that’ and give some hope,” he finished.

After going through a grueling diet and weight loss for her “YooHoo” comeback, SECRET‘s Hyosung revealed that she became upset at some unappreciative remarks about her new, slimmer body line.
On her appearance for MBC‘s ‘Quiz to Change the World‘, Hyosung surprised the audience by saying that she lost five kilograms of weight for her comeback.
“I had an unintended one-year hiatus, and I got depressed because I feared that the fans would forget me,” she revealed. “I was shocked by the comments that said I became ugly after I lost weight.”
“I think it might be better if you don’t look at internet comments,” advised host Moon Hee Jun, who himself has had plenty of experience with negative commentary. “Compared with your debut days, you’re 40 times prettier right now.”

After School and Orange Caramel‘s Lizzy regretfully recounted how far she had fallen over the past year.
During a recent appearance on SBS‘s ‘1000 Song Challenge‘, Lizzy revealed that her popularity just wasn’t what it once was. MC Lee Hwi Jae noted, “I told Lizzy that she got prettier, but she told me that her popularity had vanished.”
Co-host Jang Yoon Jung asked Lizzy for the reason behind her surprising remark. She answered, “Even last year, I kept getting calls from boys, but once the new year began, I haven’t gotten any.”
When asked if she ever regretted being so aloof back then, Lizzy shook her head, saying, “No, I don’t regret it. I still want to keep working … so far.”

Despite the combined power of dozens of Korea’s most popular idols, they – just like normal students around the world – struggled with basic history questions during their appearance on the most recent episode of MBC‘s ‘Infinity Challenge’.
Gathering idols such as SHINee, B1A4, Orange Caramel, and others, the ‘Infinity Challenge’ crew divided up among themselves in a basic quiz show match along the lines of ‘Star Golden Bell‘. However, right from the beginning, they ran into problems as they found themselves struggling from the very first question: the name of a famous Korean pro-independence movement.
Answers, written on an individual whiteboard, included ‘Seven Princesses’, ‘Strong Friends’, and – most hilariously – ‘I’m Sorry Mom’. In the end, not a single idol member got the question right.
Their historical woes revealed, the remainder of the episode dealt with the ‘Infinity Challenge’ members doling out historical information in the form of lectures to the idol groups, punctuated, as always, with hilarious moments. Check out the full episode below!

On the May 11th broadcast of ‘Entertainment Relay‘, ‘Shark‘ co-stars, Son Ye Jin and Kim Nam Gil, revealed their first impressions of each other.
Son Ye Jin shared, “I thought that Kim Nam Gil would have the bad guy charisma that he shows in dramas, so I was surprised when I met him for the first time because he was so cute.”
Kim Nam Gil also thought that Son Ye Jin is cuter than he had expected from first impressions. “Son Ye Jin has a lot of aegyo. A war has started among the male actors. It’s a competition on who receives the most affection from Son Ye Jin.”
Son Ye Jin and Kim Nam Gil will be starring in the upcoming drama ‘Shark’, which recently unleashed its intense trailer and will premiere on the 27th!

According to Cube Entertainment, HyunA will begin discharge procedures on the 12th, which will be followed by a period of rest. Although she had a highly volatile fever when she was admitted on the 9th, it has cooled off recently.
HyunA missed out on the recent Dream Concert stage, which only featured the remaining four members of 4minute. Cube will make a decision on when she will be permitted to resume her schedule based on her future level of recovery.

MC Yoo Jae Suk asked 4minute, “Which member did the best in school?”, and leader Jihyun pointed to maknae Sohyun. Sohyun surprised the other idols by revealing, “I ranked #4 in my class.” Yoo Jae Suk then asked the 30 idols, “Is there anyone here who achieved higher than fourth place?”
Sunggyu raised his hand and shared, “Although it’s weird to say this about myself, I achieved #2 out of my entire school.” Yoo Jae Suk responded, “You must have been very good at studying”, to which Sunggyu hilariously answered, “That’s right.”
Yoo Jae Suk raised the bar higher and asked, “Is there anyone who achieved higher than 2nd place?”, to which Bang Yong Guk raised his hand and shared, “I placed #1 among 800 students during my 2nd year of high school”, impressing everyone on set.
During the idol special, 30 idols split into 11 teams with each ‘Infinity Challenge’ member becoming their teacher. They also received special lessons from the cast, who lectured in their own individual way to teach them Korean history.

It’s been nearly two years since 2PM promoted their last Korean single, “Hands Up” in June of 2011. In the meantime, a number of JYP Entertainment acts have released some fantastic singles, setting high hopes for 2PM’s eventual return. Did it live up to expectations?
“All Day I Think of You” has a lot going for it. The orchestra instrumental is nice, the song is catchy, and for the most part the guys sound great- the singers are singing, the rappers are rapping, and there are no awkward vocal parts for the non-singing members (I’m looking at you, “Come Back When You Hear This Song“). A few poor choices, like the robot voice in the chorus, the random dubstep stutters scattered throughout the song, make the song sound a little dated, while Nichkhun‘s falsetto part should probably have gone to someone with a more pleasant upper register. Taecyeon‘s pitched-down rapping over the bridge could have just been omitted altogether. Despite those few sticking points, the song has a really nice, cool vibe to it and makes for an enjoyable listen. The video for “All Day I Think of You”, however, is mediocre at best. There are some good points- the strong contrasts in the black and white video set the right moody atmosphere, and the parts of the choreography where they’re actually sitting in the chairs are great. Unfortunately, this is offset by the less-than-stellar remainder of the video. The dance sequences are a bit odd – why are the members of 2PM doing a StairMaster dance against the backs of chairs right after their entrance? The highlight dance with their backs to the camera and their hands resting on their bouncing hips look a bit weird, it’s a bit too too feminine for our resident ‘beastly’ idols, especially when they’re trying to show us how they’ve grown up.
The individual cuts with the guys sitting next to sexy girls in skimpy dresses who’ve had their heads cropped out of the scene are cliche at best. Then there’s the “romantic” scenes- There’s a lot of cuddling and nuzzling and heavy breathing happening, and some implied undressing, but nothing else. It’s the kind of thing that works when it’s parsed sparingly into a video as part of the story line (think Big Bang‘s “Tonight“), but four straight minutes of wink-wink-nod-nod-they-totally-did-something-off-screen gets boring real quick and feels somewhat juvenile.
The sad thing about this comeback, however, is that it feels like 2PM would have released “All Day I Think of You” exactly as it is, even if they had never had that two year hiatus and had come back in 2012 as originally planned. Quite frankly, we wanted to see the triumphant return of the legends, not just any ordinary comeback. We wanted a “Keep Your Head Down” or a “Blue“/”Bad Boy“/”Fantastic Baby” combo or even a “Countryside Diary“. Even a “Miss Korea” would have been great, or they could have taken a cue from western music and given us a “Suit & Tie“. Something that didn’t just say ‘we’re back‘, but that reminded us of just how much we missed them and showed us just how far they’d come while they were gone. The market was pretty saturated when 2PM was at the top of their game; it’s an even bigger pond now, and it’s not enough to just have been the best at some point. Acts have to constantly re-establish that they deserve to be where they are or they’ll get replaced by the next group waiting in line to take their place.
“All Day I Think of You” could have been a perfect showcase for 2PM’s grand return to the music scene- instead, it feels somewhat phoned-in and not all that special. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good song, and it’ll certainly sell and chart well, but, we’ll always be left wondering what might have been if this comeback had been given the weight it truly deserved.

On May 10, she was spotted at Gimpo International Airport departing for Japan as 2NE1 performed at 'Super Live 2013 in Universal Studio Japan'. She was dressed normally, but put the point of her outfit in her unique beanie with a veil over it. The veil over the beanie gave her a look similar to a bride. She tweeted a photo of herself, writing, “Dara wants to be a May bride~ I’ve arrived in Osaka! ^^ I want to eat okonomiyaki~”.

Continuing on with their ‘healing’ date, the couple went out to eat some grilled eel to rejuvenate their strength. Jinwoon prepared Korean fruit wine for the occasion, and Go Jun Hee commented while drinking, “I learned how to drink with poktanjoo (bomb drink, shot of soju inside beer), so it’s hard for me to drink alcohol that’s not mixed,” causing laughter with her frankness.
After she had a few drinks in her, Go Jun Hee revealed that she thought of Jinwoon as a baby when she first met him. He responded, “When do you feel that I’m most masculine?”
The actress answered, “I got really angry when you tried to make me jealous the time I visited you at ‘Music Core‘. I was going to leave the broadcast and go home. Let’s not make each other jealous, and stop talking about female idols.”
On the same episode, Go Jun Hee set up a surprise birthday party for Jinwoon and invited his friends.

On the May 11th show, Jo Jung Chi decided to cheer up Jung In after she was diagnosed with a hyperactive thyroid. The couple went on a rickshaw date, and afterwards, he suddenly surprised her with the letter, making her shed tears of happiness.
The ‘We Got Married’ producers asked him to read the letter out loud. He said, “I think the reason you’re sick is because of me, so I’m sorry. I asked you for a lot. All I want is just for you to be healthy. You can lose the keys if you want. It’s okay if you make mistakes. We’ll be able to grow old together if you’re not sick. I want to become more like you too.”
Jo Jung Chi’s touching letter even made the studio panel show tears. Jung In stated, “I can have a complete recovery with continual treatment. From now on, I’ll work hard to receive treatment and recover.”

The two idols are the newest couple to join the show, and it seems not everyone was happy to see them together on screen. On the May 11th show, Taemin asked Na Eun if she read some of the negative comments, and she replied that she did.
During her solo interview, she expressed, “I saw all the comments. I was trying not to see them, but I ended up reading them. It’d be a lie if I said there wasn’t anything that upset me. As time passes, I worry about it more and I only see the bad things. I got hurt.”
Taemin stated, “Though I thank those who are looking at us in a positive light, there will definitely be those who think negatively of us. I wish Na Eun wouldn’t see those comments. Since she’s younger than I am, I want to protect her.”
Were you expecting this reaction from some viewers?
