Kangta takes on first variety show with ‘I Live Alone’

Kangta will be making a regular appearance on a variety show, his first time during his 17-year career.

The singer has been cast as a fixed member of MBC's 'I Live Alone', which will feature his ordinary life as Ahn Chil Hyun. The show, which already premiered in March, has featured the lives of Kim Tae Won, Defconn, Seo In Guk, Lee Sung Jae and Kim Kwang Kyu.

The producer of the show stated, "We had interest in Kangta ever since the program launched so we decided to cast him. He seems to be character that is different from the current members."

Kangta filmed his first episode for the show on June 18 at his luxurious home in Samsungdong, Seoul.

Gong Yoo to make a cameo in ‘Dating Agency: Cyrano’

Actor Gong Yoo is confirmed to make a cameo appearance on tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama, 'Dating Agency: Cyrano', adding more excitement to the series.

On June 18, tvN revealed a still cut of Gong Yoo filming at an amusement park. He will appear on the drama as the crush of Jung Yu Mi, a socially awkward girl and the fourth customer of Dating Agency Cyrano.

The production staff said, "Gong Yoo, who has sweet voice and beautiful voice is going to build up the romance of 'Dating Agency Cyrano'. He is going to make a short but strong appearance."

Showcasing their sexy charms once again, SISTAR has just released a dance practice video for their latest title song, "Give It To Me"!

"Give It To Me" is the title song off of their second official album. The song was produced by hit maker Duble Sidekick, who also behind their summer hit song "Loving U", and is arranged by famous producer Kim Do Hun.

M4M’s “When You Leave Me” tops Yin Yue Tai chart

Korean-Chinese idol group, M4M, has taken over China's Yin Yue Tai chart with their second title track, "When You Leave Me".

According to Yin Yue Tai rankings, M4M's music video for "When You Leave Me" nabbed the top spot of the music video chart, and is still keeping its position until now. This is the first time the rookie group topped in a music video chart in China after one month of promotion.

"When You Leave Me" is a mellow track included in their debut mini-album which was released back in March. The music video stars label mate 4minute's Jihyun, who shared intimate scenes with M4M's leader Jimmy.

Henry is experiencing huge popularity in Taiwan with his solo debut album, 'Trap', sweeping local music charts.

Henry's first solo mini album 'Trap', which was released on June 7, came at the top of Taiwan's biggest online music chart 'KKBOX' in the K-POP category for the third week of June, showing its explosive popularity in the country.

The title song "Trap" is decribed as an urban dance pop number with a unique blend of strong drum beats, piano and strings. The song is accompanied by two SM artists, Super Junior's Kyuhyun and SHINee's Taemin.

U-Kiss to embark on South America tour

U-Kiss headed off to South America to embark on a three-country concert tour to Peru, Colombia and Mexico.

On June 19, NH Media announced that U-Kiss will be holding concerts in three different countries in South America. The tour will begin on June 21 in Peru and will be continued to Colombia and Mexico on June 23 and 28, before returning to South Korean on June 30.

A representative stated, "To repay the fans for all of their support, we decided to hold a solo three-country tour to Peru, Colombia and Mexico. As it's not a place we can visit often, we will spend a meaningful time with fans."

U-Kiss was previously invited to South America's biggest music festival, 'EVENTO 40', last May 2011 and receive warm welcome from the audience. Since then, their concerts in South America were all sold out and the group also set up an official fanclub for Latin America.

Uhm Tae Woong welcomes new baby girl to his family

Actor Uhm Tae Woong has become a father of a daughter at the age of 39.

On June 18th, Uhm Tae Woong's wife and ballerina Yoon Hye Jin gave birth to their beautiful baby daughter. According to a source close to the actor, "Both his wife and child are healthy and Uhm Tae Woong is very happy."

Uhm Tae Woong and Yoon Hye Jin were blessed with their first daughter that came in five months after their wedding earlier this year, which was held in Seoul's Conrad Hotel on January 9.

Taking some time off from her "Bad Girls" comeback promotions, Lee Hyori had a photoshoot for the fashion magazine with a concept of 'retro bikini'. The shooting was held in Jeju Island where she flaunted her sexy bikini body in swimming suits, with roller blades, skateboard, and in surf gear.

This is the second consecutive month she'll be appearing in the magazine. Lee Hyori especially showed off her tight and tanned body line, the perfect model to represent the hot summer season.

Jiyoung recently released photos of herself onto her Instagram, hinting at something coming soon. While everyone is hoping for KARA's comeback, it turned out to be a new pictorial for 'InStyle' magazine.

In the photos, the 20 year old KARA member could be seen wearing an array of summer outfits, presenting both of her mature and innocent image. Unlike her usual image of cute and sweet girl, she showed more mature and ladylike look.

B1A4 to hold second solo concert in August

After their successful first concert last December of 2012, the boys of B1A4 will be holding their second solo concert this coming August.

According WM Entertainment, the group will be having their second concert titled 'AMAZING STORE' at the Uniqlo AX from August 7 to 11. Under the story telling concept, the concert will be decorated with toys, presenting a whole new concept.

Having transformed themselves into the musicians, B1A4 will re-arrange every the song for the concert in band version and they will be performing with a live band, presenting a new kind of music.

Tickets for the concerts will be available from June 27th, 2013 at 8PM KST.

Meanwhile, B1A4 wrapped up their promotions for fourth mini album, 'What's Happening?' due to Baro's ankle injury.

Yoo Seung Ho promoted to assistant instructor of recruit training center

Actor Yoo Seung Ho, who is currently serving in the army, has been promoted to the assistant instructor of military recruit training center.

According to South Korea's 27th Division Recruitment Training Department, the 19-year-old actor was promoted to the rank of assistant instructor. His agency also confirmed, "It is true that he was transferred to a new position."

Yoo Seung Ho started his military service on March 5th without public announcement, and he decided to serve in the army like other ordinary soldiers. She showed great dedication and previously received an award from his battalion commander.

Yoo Seung Ho will be released on December 4, 2014.

Huh Gak and Eunji release making video for “Short Hair”

Singer Huh Gak and A Pink's Jung Eunji released a making-of clip for their collaborative single, "Short Hair".

The making-of video shows the two singers sitting comfortably as they talk about the song. It also features behind-the-scenes footage from the recording.

"Short Hair" was produced by the hit composer Duble Sidekick and serves as the 'BLUE' episode of 'A Cube For Season' project album.

CNBLUE to release 6th Japanese single in July

Idol band CNBLUE is preparing for another comeback in Japan next month.

According to their Japanese label, Warner Music Japan, CNBLUE is set to release its sixth Japanese single titled "Lady" on July 31. The single album will contain three tracks, including the title song of the same name and new songs "Don't Care" and "Monday".

The single will be available in three different versions. The limited editions comes with additional DVD that includes music videos and live performances from their showcases in Japan last year.

Meanwhile, CNBLUE will be rocking two of Japan's summer festivals in early August, including 'ROCK in Japan 2013' and 'Summer Sonic 2013'.

John Park to release first official album

Singer John Park will return with his first official album this coming July!

His agency confirmed on June 18 that John Park will release his first official album 'INNER CHILD' on July 3rd and will embark on his full-fledge album promotion. Out of the 11 tracks to be included in the upcoming album, five were written by John Park himself, showing off his musical talent as a songwriter.

The remaining six tracks are the works of popular musicians, such as Lee Juck, Lee Hyori's boyfriend Lee Sang Soon and other various artists.

John Park said, "I've prepared this album for a year and I was happy to have worked with honorable musicians. I went back to my childhood when I made the songs."

IU postpones July comeback

IU might push back the date of her return which was originally scheduled in July.

On June 18, IU's agency LOEN Entertainment announced, "IU originally aiming for a July album release, but her schedule remains unconfirmed due to her drama filming and other schedules. There's a possibility that it'll be delayed later than July."

IU is currently starring as female lead on KBS drama 'You're The Best, Lee Soonshin' which is set to end this August. Her busy schedule seems to run in conflict with her July comeback plans.

According to media outlet OSEN, Ailee will be releasing a new album in the middle of July after nine months since her latest hit song, "I Will Show You". Her comeback track will not only showcase her powerful vocals, but will also incorporate choreography, adding more of stage performance elements.

Ailee has already became a high-demand artist, featuring in several tracks for hip hop artists such as BaeChigi and Geeks. She also helped the songs ranked first in various music charts earlier this year.

Clara revealed that she could have been a part of SM Entertainment.

The sexy model appeared as guest on the June 17th episode of tvN's 'Taxi' and explained why she didn't signed a contract with SM Entertainment.

Clara shared, "I got cast by a SM casting director. I even met Lee Soo Man and almost signed a contract." MC Jung Hyung Moo then added, "You could have debuted as part of an SM girl group", to which she replied, "I probably would have become a Girls' Generation member."

However, Clara explained, "My mother wanted me to be an actress and my father had a hard time as a part of the group Koreana so I ended up not signing the contract."

YG Entertainment to debut new girl group in October

As promised on his recent post, YG Entertainment boss, Yang Hyun Suk, announce details of its upcoming new girl group through a follow-up post on YG-Life blog on June 19th.

According to Yang Hyun Suk, the new girl group is planning to debut in October, which is when 2NE1 is scheduled to release a mini album as well. The trilingual members are fluent in Korean, English and Japanese, and have an average of 17 year old. Having started out with 10 members, they are now going to debut with six members.

The hottest idols who have been chosen as the main leads of the Korean adaptation of Disney Channel hit 'High School Musical' have released their singles for the musical version of the hit teen movie.

The 'High School Musical' is about the love, concerns and passion of young students enjoying living their dreams. Hot idol stars such as Super Junior's Ryeowook, FT ISLAND's Lee Jae Jin f(x)'s Luna, Kang Dong Ho, AOA's ChoA will play the lead roles for the musical.

The Korea-version remake will premiere at the Blue Square Samsung Card Hall on July 2, 2013 and expected to run until September.

Lee Hyori, who is receiving warm response for new tune "Bad Girls", has transformed into 'bad boy' for the music video for her track, "Going Crazy".

"Going Crazy" is included in Lee Hyori's fifth album, 'Monochrome.' The music video features a male Lee Hyori, looking very handsome in a suit and a moustache, as well as the candidates for the TV series 'Korea's Next Top Model – Season 4'.
