CNBLUE’s Yonghwa considers role in KBS drama ‘Future Selection’

After turning down 'The Heirs', CNBLUE's Yonghwa is considering taking up a role in a forthcoming KBS drama 'Future Selection'.

FNC Entertainment revealed on July 16, "It is true that Yonghwa received a casting offer for 'Future Selection'." The agency added that the casting was not finalized but the actor seemed likely to accept the offer.

'Future Selection' is a drama that revolves around the world of broadcasting. If Yonghwa takes the role, he will be playing a producer at the station. The drama will make its premiere in October.

JYJ to appear on Australian television

JYJ members will be appearing on an Australian public TV show and send greeting messages to the fans.

According to C-JeS Entertainment, the trio will be on a music program called 'SBS Pop Asia'. Australia's SBS network is owned by the Australian government and 8 million Australians or 40% of the entire population has access to the channel.

'SBS Pop Asia' is Australia's biggest Asian-pop program that has recorded a high viewership since it began airing in 2011. The program is aired twice a week in every Saturday and Sunday for an hour. According to the program's staffs, there have been continuous requests about JYJ.

JYJ's episode will air at 4PM on July 21st where the members will greet their fans in Australia, and talks about its world concert tour and recent happenings.

INFINITE’s L to play young So Ji Sub in ‘Sun of the Lord’

INFINITE's L will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming SBS drama 'Sun of the Lord'.

Written by the famous Hong sisters, 'Sun of the Lord' centers on greedy boss Joo Joong Won (played by So Ji Sub) and dismal female personal assistant Tae Gong Sil (played by Gong Hyo Jin) who will console souls with scary yet sad stories.

In the beginning of the drama, INFINITE's L will play the young version of So Ji Sub's character and appear in Joo Joong Won's flashbacks of when he was young. L's appearance is already being anticipated especially with INFINITE currently gaining attention with its recent comeback.

KARA’s Goo Hara is a ‘Black Swan’ for ‘Cosmopolitan’

KARA's Goo Hara displays her stunning beauty in a recent pictorial for the August edition of fashion magazine, 'Cosmopolitan'.

The pictorial was taken with a concept of a ballerina from a film 'Black Swan.' In the photos, Goo Hara takes on a sexy look in a black, see-through dress and dark makeup. She also displays her pure and feminine charms in a simple white concept.

SISTAR’s Hyorin criticized for having cold attitude at fansigning

SISTAR's Hyorin is currently underfire for having a cold attitude during a recent fansigning event.

On July 15, several videos and photos were uploaded online, containing footage of SISTAR's fansigning event that was held on July 13. Hyorin received negative feedbacks from the netizens for her cold attitude and rude conduct towards her fans.

At the fanmeeting, Hyorin said, "I'm not in a bad mood, so don't misunderstand. A person can't be smiling for 24 hours, 365 days, right? I wasn't in a bad mood, I just didn't have a facial expression."

After the controversy spread like wild fire, Hyorin sincerely apologized through SISTAR's official Twitter saying, "Hello, this is Hyorin. I am so sorry for unintentionally disappointing many of you through the fan signing event incident."

She added, "It was actually a fun time for me being with the fans at the event. However, I tend to be really honest with my fans and I think my actions cause a misunderstanding. I will try not to disappoint you from now on. I'm sorry. I will be Hyorin who tries her best."

Will KARA renew contract with DSP Media?

Girl group KARA became the center of attention as the members are discussing on whether they will renew their contracts with agency DSP Media.

According to report, members Goo Hara, Seungyeon, Nicole and Gyuri's contracts are set to expire next January while Jiyoung's contract will end in April 2014. Neither the agency nor the group members have confirmed anything about their next move.

A representative of DSP Media said, "It is still too early to negotiate on renewing contracts. However, the members could have discussed renewing their contracts among themselves", adding that they do not have any information on the details.

In the meantime, KARA is set to release a new single album in Japan as well as hold Arena tour in October.

On July 17th episode of MBC Music's 'Show Champion', A Pink won the Champion Song for the week with its latest catchy title song, "NoNoNo". This is the girl group's second music show trophy after winning on 'M! Countdown' early last year with "My My".

CNBLUE's Yonghwa might have turned down his role, but fans can now expect to see another member of CNBLUE in the drama as Kang Minhyuk has been confirmed for the upcoming SBS drama 'The Heirs'.

According to his agency FNC Entertainment, Kang Minhyuk has been confirmed to star to 'The Heirs'. He recently received a love call from writer Kim Eun Sook and decided to accept the casting offer.

Kang Minhyuk will take on the role of Yoon Chan Young, one of the leading male characters with a good nature and happy personality. The character Minhyuk has been cast for is not the same character Yonghwa was to take on.

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung bids farewell to ‘Dating Agency: Cyrano’

Girls' Generation member Sooyoung's drama 'Dating Agency: Cyrano' closed its curtains on July 16 and she bid farewell to fans through farewell letter and several photos posted on the group's official website.

Sooyoung wrote, "I have to say goodbye to Gong Min Young as of today. I feel very sad, but I was happy that I got lots of love from all of you while living as Gong Min Young." She added, "The atmosphere on set were always lively and comfortable. I learned lot of things from senior actors who made cameo appearances on the series. They made each episode shine brightly."

She also thanked her fans, "With filming through the night.. You were always a strength for me, so I was able to complete things well until the end. Thank you."

Sooyoung lastly added, "I'm going to push back the sad feeling and am going to have my heart flutter until my heart's content for the upcoming Taiwan concert. I will keep doing my best as a return for my fans' love."











CNBLUE releases PV for Japanese single “Lady”

CNBLUE unveiled the full music video for upcoming Japanese single, "Lady".

The group is set to release its sixth Japanese single titled "Lady" on July 31. The single album will contain three tracks, including the title song of the same name which was co-produced by Park Hyun Woo and member Jung Yonghwa.

"Lady" recently ranked number one on Japan's HMV pre-order chart, Korean-Asian pre-order charts as well as the daily pre-order chart.

YG Entertainment's new artist Kang Seung Yoon has knocked down all Korean music charts with his debut single, "It Rains".

On July 17, Kang Seung Yoon's pre-released single "It Rains", which was unveiled on July 16, ranked first on 9 major online music charts of Korea including Olleh, Daum, Mellon, Naver, Cyworld Music, Soribada, Bugs, Mnet and Monkey3.

Although this song is not a title song of his first mini album, it is beloved by many music fans. Also, the feat is more meaningful because Kang Seung Yoon did not even start his official promotion.

Big Bang's Daesung (D-Lite) released a short version of another music video for his upcoming Japanese single "I Love You".

"I Love You" is a remake of the song by popular J-pop singer Ozaki Yutaka, which was widely known in Korea as well. The song also features musician Taro Hakase, who added more emotions to the song with his violin performance.

Daesung's new single will be released on July 31.

K-Pop sensation Psy will be releasing a new album in September.

A representative from YG Entertainment revealed that Psy is currently staying in Los Angeles and working on his upcoming album set for a release in September. He is also planning another large-scale concert in Korea in December.

Also, July 15 marked the first anniversary of the release of his global mega-hit "Gangnam Style," the most-viewed video on YouTube which has accumulated over 1.73 billion views so far. JYJ’s Junsu tops iTunes charts in eight countries

JYJ's Junsu rises to the top of iTunes charts across eight countries with his comeback second album 'Incredible'.

According to his agency, C-JeS Entertainment, "Junsu's second album topped the compiled album chart in Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and Thailand, as well as placed first in the dance genre chart in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Kazakhstan. This album with the cheerful dance title and various genres took the attention of fans from all over the world."

Junsu's 'Incredible' album is getting heated response not only from abroad but in Korea as well. The album's tracks swept the charts immediately after release, lining at the top ranks from first place to twelfth of Bugs and Naver Music. The title song "Incredible" similarly also occupied tops spots on the other music charts as well.

FT Island has stormed Japan's ringtone charts with upcoming Japanese single.

FNC Entertainment announced that FT Island's newest single "Theory of Happiness" ranked at the top of Japan's K-Pop Asia Daily Chart of Recochocu ahead of its official release. The song also topped Dwango's K-pop ringtone weekly chart.

"Theory of Happiness" is included in the group's 11th Japanese single of the same name to be released on July 24. The song was chosen as the ending theme of an animated film 'Toriko' and the background music for a commercial for a Japanese restaurant chain.

Baek Ji Young greets fans for the first time after miscarriage

Girls Generation's Sooyoung and actor Shin Hyun Joon have been chosen to host the opening ceremony of upcoming 17th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) which is scheduled at 6pm on July 18th.

An official with the film festival revealed that they chose the two stars because they have experience in hosting entertainment shows. Shin Hyun Joon is currently hosting KBS news show 'Entertainment Relay' while Sooyoung is also the current host of SBS 'TV Entertainment Tonight'.

The annual Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival will take place in the city of Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province this year from this coming July 18th to 28th.

f(x) surprises fans with ‘art film’ teaser for ‘Pink Tape’ comeback

INFINITE releases making of “Destiny” MV

Following the release of the blockbuster music video for "Destiny", INFINITE has now unveiled a making-of video, giving fans a peek of what went on behind the scenes of the production.

"Destiny" music video was filmed at Universal Studio in the U.S. It was directed by Zanybros' Hong Won Ki, one of the best Korean MV directors who have worked with top singers like Seo Tae ji and Girls' Generation.

"Hurricane" was co-produced by Jeon Da Woon and Marco, who produced the group's previous hit, "No Mercy". Leader Bang Yong Guk participated in writing lyrics.
