JYJ Jaejoong's pre-released single "Sunny Day" not only swept local music charts but also took over Japan's iTunes single charts.

Prior to the full release of his first full-length album 'WWW' on October 29, Jaejoong released the single "Sunny Day." The single topped local online music services including Bugs and Cyworld as well as grabbed the No. 1 spot on single charts of iTunes Japan.

According to C-JeS Entertainment, "This is the fifth time that Kim Jaejoong ranked No.1 on the iTunes chart in Japan this year." One industry expert in Japan added, "For a Korean singer to top Japan's iTunes chart is a really remarkable achievement. But for Jaejoong to do it 5 straight times, it only proves his unparalled popularity in Japan."

G-Dragon sweeps music charts in Taiwan and Hong Kong

After achieving an impressive all-kill in Korea, Big Bang's G-Dragon also placed himself atop of musc charts in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

On October 16th, YG Entertainment announced that G-Dragon's second studio album, 'Coup d'Etat' has ranked first on music charts in Hong Kong and in Taiwan'ss biggest music site, KKBOX after going on sale in the two countries on October 4.

The track "Crooked" which was released earlier than the rest of the tracks, is still maintaining its top position while other tracks including "Coup d'Etat", "R.O.D", "Who U" and "Black", can also be found within the Top 10.

"Coup d'Etat" also debuted #1 on 'MY MUSIC TAIWAN' weekly music chart, while "Crooked" was number one for OMusic Taiwan. The album is also popular in ringtone websites like Taiwan Mobile Telecom Company.

Super Junior’s Donghae & Eunhyuk preparing for a comeback?

Super Junior's Donghae and Eunhyuk left their fans buzzing with their latest post, possibly hinting at a unit comeback.

On October 16, Donghae posted on his Twitter, "Recording new song with EunHyuk & Teamonesound", and attached a set of photos with singer and producer One Way's Youngsky.

Eunhyuk also tweeted a photo of himself from the recording studio captioned, "Recording", followed by a blurry photo of lyric sheet, giving much excitement to the fans.

Super Junior's Donghae & Eunhyuk had their last promotion as a unit in June with second Japanese single album 'I Wanna Dance'. They are currenly busy for Super Junior's Super Show 5 World tour.

Tiffany and Bora reveal that they are close friends

Girls' Generation's Tiffany and SISTAR's Bora revealed their surprisingly close friendship.

On October 16, Tiffany and Bora attened the press conference for SBS upcoming show 'Design Project - Fashion King Korea' held at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong. During the event, a reporter asked the two idol group members if they know each other to which Tiffany revealed that they have been friends for a long time.

Bora added, "We are very close friends, but never got to appear on the same show." Tiffany stated, "We also never had promotions at the same time, so whenever we had breaks Bora would come over to my house and I would go over to her house. We are very excited that we finally got a chance to work together."

Meanwhile, the first episode of 'Fashion King Korea' will be aired on November 17.

Park Ji Yoon releases full MV for “Mr. Lee”

Who are the most popular idol groups for foreign students?

Top idol groups Big Bang, Girls' Generation and Super Junior were named the most well-known group among foreign students.

Congressman Yoo Ki Hong of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Tourism conducted a joint polling survey with the Sejong School Foundation to find out which K-pop idol group is the most well-known among foreign students.

In the revealed survey results, which were taken by 604 foreign students at the King Sejong Institute, Big Bang ranked #1 with 18.3% of the total votes, followed by Girls' Generation (15.1%), Super Junior (13.9%), EXO (11.1%), TVXQ (8.9%). The list also included PSY (8.3%), 2NE1 (7.6%), CNBLUE (6.8%), 2PM (6.4%) and Shinhwa (5.8%).

According to the survey, 66.1% of the foreign students first learned about Korean culture from pop and entertainment (K-POP, movies, dramas), while 12.0% learned through news coverage of politics, economy, and diplomacy.

VIXX to make a cameo appearance in ‘The Heirs’

Idol group VIXX will be making a special cameo appearance in SBS drama 'The Heirs'.

According to Jellyfish Entertainment, VIXX will appear on the fourth episode of 'The Heirs' which will air on October 17. The group will play themselves at the concert produced by Mega Entertainment, the company Bona (Krystal) is set to inherit.

The idol group's cameo appearance was made from the request of show's producer who has been keeping an eye on VIXX's Hongbin. It was first time for VIXX members to cast in a drama, but they surprised the staffs by showing great skills in a short time.

Lee Yeon Hee in talks to star in new drama ‘Miss Korea’

Actress Lee Yeon Hee is considering taking on the lead role in upcoming MBC drama series, 'Miss Korea'.

On October 16th, SM Entertainment revealed, "Lee Yeon Hee is positively considering casting in 'Miss Korea'."

'Miss Korea' revolves around an ordinary girl who comes out to be Korea's beauty pageant, Miss Korea, with the help of her neighbors. The drama is another collaborative project between producer Kwon Suk Jang and script writer Suh Sook Hyang who had previously worked together on MBC's 'Pasta.'

'Miss Korea' will be the follow-up drama for 'Medical Top Team' and will premiere in December on MBC.

SISTAR’s Bora and Park Seo Joon become the new MCs for ‘Music Bank’

After 2AM's Jinwoon stepped down from his MC post, KBS announced that SISTAR's Bora and Park Seo Joon will be the new hosts for its weekly music program, 'Music Bank'.

On October 17, Bora and Park Seo Joon attended the press conference together for KBS fall reorganization held at the KBS Radio Hall. The two stars will begin their hosting duties of the revamped 'Music Bank' on October 25.

Park Seo Joon said, "I'm happy to become the new MC of Music Bank." He added, "SISTAR debuted when I was in the army but it seems like fate that we get to be MCs together."

Bora said, "It feels new to stand on stage as a MC. I will work hard. I'm not that close with Park Seo Joon but we do know each other, so I think we'll be able to do well together."

The group released its 7th single album 'Winter Games' in Japan, and they have been running a major promotion in the country especially at major public places in Tokyo. B2ST’s Kikwang cast in new mobile drama ‘Twenty Years Old’

B2ST's Lee Kikwang has confirmed his participation in upcoming mobile drama 'Twenty Years Old' (tentative name).

According to a broadcast representative, Lee Kikwang and rookie actress Lee Dain will take on the leading roles in four-part drama 'Twenty Years Old'. This drama will be CJ E&M's first ever mobile drama.

In the drama, Kikwang will play idol star of the same name and a former middle school classmate of Hyerim (played by Lee Dain), the never-been-dating-before college student. The drama revolves around the fun love story of two students who are both twenty years old.
